When champions or whatever from the Chaos Marine codex roll for multiple boons at the start can their gifts that give +1 to a characteristic stack?

My FLGS has some little 15 yr. old kid who claims stuff like I7 S6 T6 4 wound champions or whatever, if it was a grown man I'd recommend some ex-lax... but I also wanted to double check here.

a) Page 28 clearly states that if you roll the same boon again, the second roll does nothing.
b) How is he getting a bunch of stacking results in the first place? Just crazy dice luck> AFAICR there are only two models eligible to get two pre-game Gifts in the first place.

Man, if you roll a 64, you get anothe D3+1 rolls on the table. I have been in a game where there was 3 boons an a single champion.

my friend rolled a 64, scoring another 3 from the D3+1.
He then rolled +1T, +1S of ranged weapon and +1 to Save.

Needless to say a Nurglenator with a S8AP2 pistol and a Lightning Claw leading some MeltaMarines wasnt all that fun to face (I know how he feels when I put my Semp Weave RC Lord in front of my Warriors)

I am however not sure about rolling multiples of the same, as I have never been across the table from/allied with that scenario

Oh sure, it's possible to get several rolls if you get lucky in challenges/with your one (or possibly two, for the Warp Talon or Possessed champions) Gift of Mutation roll. But there are enough results on the chart that getting doubles of the same result doesn't come up all that often.

It is possible he Is stacking rewards from every game that champion has played in, and perhaps needs to be reminded that your units are blank slates at the start of the game, and do not have about 20 rewards stacked on them. My thoughts on the matter anyway.

That's what I figured. I still curb-stomped him. He kept deep striking units with no guns (mutilators, seekers, etc..) near my gun-line and his 1000Sons were 36in away (the 72in apart deployment).
He's got that little kid mindset of "Cool I got 35 (or whatever) 3 times now he's T+3"

But, I didn't want to harshly correctly a little kid without checking first. I play against him to do a favor to his father (also a player) who is a cool guy (but he was away on a contract).

I hate to necro a thread but I have a question reguarding stacking gifts at the begining of a game.

1. champions say they may take a gift of mutation
2. warp talon champ and possessed champ may take up to two gift of mutation
3. thiis is where my question comes in. Chaos Lord says may purchase special issue wargear and the such. What's stopping him from buying 10 gifts? It's the same as buying any other weapon. He could buy 2 combi meltas if he didn;t want a bolter and pistol correct? It's doesn't have any restrictions like the artifacts.

It says under Chaos rewards " A model may take up to one of each of the following." Page 91.

The Chaos Rewards section states that you can have up to one of each from the list.

Possessed etc obviously do not purchase from the list so can take two.
