Hi folks
I'm tuning my first necron list after some helpful crit on here. Have a look below. Welcome to any crit, but particularly interested on your thoughts on:
- which member of the royal court do I run with which squad?
- what would you add to make it 2000?
- what would you take to make it 1750?
Thanks!
List:
HQ - 395
Overlord (WS, MS, RO, PS) - 190
Lord (WS, MS, RO) - 105
Destructek (pulse) - 55
Destructek (gaze) - 45
TROOPS - 834
9 x Warriors in Ghost Ark - 232

5 Scarabs for 225p? Its supposed to be unit of 15 scarabs?
Gaze of flame isnt useful here. Phase shifter isnt worth his points so remove it. Add sempiternal weave instead. Lord from RC with orb isnt effective in my opinion- too expensive.
If U wanna play this balanced without cheese kind of list with classic OL + RO and some royal court I suggest removing:
Lord
Gaze of flame
Phase Shifter on OL
Add SW on OL
Those are primary changes which makes your list 1704. Things you can do then to adjust your list to higher points:
-Add D.lord (MSS, SW) to wraith squad
-Change scarabs for another wraith squad (5-6 strong)
-Add another wraiths squad (FA of 2x Wraiths 1x Scarabs), you can reduce scarabs number
-Add A.Barge

Whoops - yea, I worked out scarabs at 45pt a base!
Automatically Appended Next Post: So three barges, and 2-3 wraith units, one with DL. Sounds a little cheesy.

Couple things I'd like to add- Original list is mostly solid. I would suggest dropping the (miscalculated) scarabs, and working on filling up your immortal squads. In addition, scythe immortals should have gauss blasters, because you can drop em into rapid fire range. The tesla immortals are great for either a) staying at 24 inches away, or b) Sticking em with a few nasty cc units (think attached lord+ overlord+ obyron nasty) and charging em into melee to be a decent meatshield. Also, if you are looking to expand on points, a third a barge will always work, or perhaps a doom scythe. The thing I have found rings true about running crons is that wherever possible, do maximum squad size. 5 immortals will die like chumps, because if they all get wiped out, then they don't get reanimate, and are therefore equal to marines in defense stats, and you play crons cause you like the idea of your troops never dying, right? If the squad gets wiped out, they were an utter waste. Last thing I would say is that while the pulse (may) help, the gaze probably wont. The gaze stays inside the transport the whole game, and if your warriors are outside the ark and being assaulted, they are dead anyway, gaze or no.

It's a very strong unit: You have a DLord shielding the wraiths with it's T6 and 2+ save and if you really need, a wraith can "Look out Sir" with it's 3++ save. The DLord gives the wraiths Prefered Enemy (Everything!) and the Wraiths give the DLord Fearless.
It's a complete wrecking ball of destruction once it reaches a target.

alongside 2 other wraith units, a couple of scythes, and three annihilation barges? ... think it qualifies as just a little cheesy. Automatically Appended Next Post: TheDraconicLord wrote:

You dont have to change your list into classic cheese, beacause you cannot fit there second wraith squad, d.lord and barge in one time. Just pick one of those options to fit desired points. With GA, Lanceteks, OL on foot and scarabs its hard to classify you as OP.
Cheesy list is 3-4 NS, 2 Dlord, 3 Wraiths squad and 3 barges.
And probably Immortals with gauss is good idea, it tend to be more effective in night scythe.

If you want to stay close to this set up. I would say....
Drop PS and add SW on the Olord then drop gaze form the dtek and drop the scarabs all together.
Put all 10 immortals in one scythe with gauss and give them a storm tek as well. Then drop the second scythe.
Add a another warrior blob of 17 ( if my numbers are right) and have the Nlord walk with them.
Between two arks running repair barge and the res orb that unit should be very hard to kill.
If they have a lot of anti infantry you can put the warriors behind the arks if you want. Either way this allows you to control the middle of the field with a fare amount of shooty.. use your wraiths to tie up any annoying units on your fanks or attempting to tangle it up with your warriors.
This should put you around 1740 points.
