Hey everyone,

When making a Daemon army, what are the rules or regulations to following a God?

If there are some, which God should an army be based on?

Thanks!

you can do what you wish with daemon armies. Theres fluff aspects (no khorne with tzeench) but theres no official rules as to how many you can have

Not that it matters because given the amount of interbreeding that went on with that lot I'm pretty sure the Queen is her own Uncle.

If the prize is big enough even Khorne and Tzeentch may (temporarily) join sides, but are as likely to fight eachother for the prize afterwards (or during).

The new Warp Storm table reflects this internecine fighting.

The true rivalries are;
Khorne vs Slaanesh
Tzeentch vs Nurgle

Khorne may think Tzeentch a weaklin glittle wretch for hiding behind his magic trickery and not slaming a massive axe into everything's face, but Slaanesh represents the carnal lust and greed that is the complete opposit of Khorne's sense of honour & valuing martial prowess above all else.

As for how to combine the Gods/how many to use?
Ironically enough, the outright "safest" thing to do is to build a rivalry army! By taking some Tzeentch & Nurgle units w/Instruments for example, you can all but prevent the Warpstorm table from nuking your units. (only 3 results are actually 'bad' for you at this point)

Going mono-God is cool and fluffy and all, but getting your opposit God's result on the Warpstorm table can be rather painfull... (especially Khorne hating on Slaanesh is you're packing alot of T4 multi-wound units!)

All of the gods are rivals with each other, and will even put aside those rivalries (even the hard-bitten hatreds) if the prize is good enough. Granted, once all the mortals are out of the way, they will be at each other's throats for said prize, but that's Chaos for you!

I've been running Slaanesh and Tzeentch, but have been using a pack of Fleshhounds sometimes. My story is that Khorne is keeping an eye on his rivals by slipping the hounds in to try and steal the prize (such as the soul of the enemy warlord) just to bugger up their plans
