Hey, I'm allying my Dark Eldar force with my Imperial Guard, in a 700pt/1300pt split, just wondered if this could combat Tyranids, any advice welcome (My friend Alex is the best at our local club, he uses Tervigon spam with his Tyranids, and I keep finding that my Space Wolves just don't cut it against him, so I'm trying Dark Eldar)
First off, Imperial Guard
CCS - Power weapon, Medi-Pack, Flamer, Heavy Flamer, Carapace Armour
Chimera - Heavy Flamer, Heavy Flamer, Dozer Blade, HK
Veteran Squad - Melta Gun, Flamer x2, Carapace Armour
Veteran Squad - Melta Gun, Flamer x2, Carapace Armour
Vendetta x2 - Heavy Bolters
Leman Russ Battle Tank x2 - Heavy Flamer, Heavy Flamers, Dozer Blade
Medusa x2 - Heavy Flamer, Enclosed Crew Compartment
Dark Eldar
--EDIT--
Master Haemonculus - Flesh Gauntlet, Liquifier Gun, Shattershard
Kabalite Warriors x10 - Blaster, Dark Lance
Raider - Chain-snares, Splinter Racks
Kabalite Waririors x10 - Shredder, Splinter Cannon
Grotesques x10 - Liquifier Gun, Abberation, Flesh Gauntlet

I really don't know much about IG, unfortunately, but I can give you input on the Dark Eldar contingent.
Where is the Archon going? Having him by himself decked as CC is not a good idea against Tyranid. If you're just taking a single raider, drop the chain snares, put the Incubi in the Raider along with the Archon, drop them off together, then scoop up a squad of Warriors.
Tyranid have no vehicles, so a Blaster is almost wasted if not for the insta-kill, same with the Dark Lance. Points are also wasted on the Sybarites and extra weapons - Splinter Rifles will be what you want, as they will tear through the Tyranid and insta-kill a lot of them.
Your second squad of Warriors, again, get rid of the Shredder and Agoniser - the SC will be good if they're just going to camp somewhere, otherwise put them in a boat.
Do you have any Venoms? Venoms would go a long way to helping this out. Essentially, as Dark Eldar, the best way to deal with Tyranid is Splinter fire. Lots of Splinter fire. A single Venom with 3 SC Trueborn in it will pump out 24 poison shots, and a Raider with 10 Warriors will pump out 10 poison shots, all re-rollable with Splinter Racks - Splinter Cannons are not re-rollable, but they would give an additional 5 shots over a standard Rifle while on a boat.
Liquefiers, though, I have a soft spot for them. They make quick work on Tyranid, especially if you get lucky on the D6 AP. I would, in all honesty, drop the Archon and take some Haemonculi. Free pain token, and give them a Hexrifle + Liquefier each. They would be able to snipe MCs, and melt anything within a flame template.

Your list isnt legal. You have too many HS choices for guard to be your ally and too many elites for DE to be the ally.
BTW how are you having trouble against nids with SW? SW literally shut down tyranids... With the ability to take 4 RP all with jaws you should be able to kill his tervigons off plus any other slow monsters by turn 2...

I've literally noted down everything I have for Dark Eldar, I have a Haemonculus but I figured he wouldn't do as well against Tyranids, and I was trying to max out the points on all of my Kabalite squads, I am also very limited in terms of Space Wolves, I have a Whirlwind, a Predator, a Land Raider, some Wolf Guard, 1 squad of Blood Claws, one squad of Grey hunters, a Termy Rune Priest, a Termy Wolf Lord and a Wolf Lord mounted on the giant wolf thing with a thunder hammer.. And, as far as the Archon is concerned, he's out there to beat down some MCs, and I figured loading an Archon out for range isn't the best idea either, I also thought the Darklight Raider would do well against 'nids because of its ability to quickly eliminate MCs.. He often uses Zoans and Tyrannofexes too, which are really tough :( Automatically Appended Next Post: rabidelfman wrote:I really don't know much about IG, unfortunately, but I can give you input on the Dark Eldar contingent.

And, my Archon is with the Incubi

Of the two armies that can absolutely trash nids, IG and DE come to mind. Fighting nids requires the ability to counter hordes and a lot of MC's. Poison works on both, darklight works on MC's, and guard can spam pie plates and templates to deal with hordes. Guard also brings high S weapons for the big ones.
For the DE part, your hamey ancient is a LOT of points...yeah, a flesh gauntlet can instagib a big creature, but you have to land a wound first. Better to just take a CC archon for a shadowfield and venom blade. The shattershard is okay, if you get in range to hit a tervigon. Liquifiers are always nice, but for a grot blob an archon can wreck face against bugs. Venom blade to force wounds, soul trap to double strength and then use a huskblade to kill. Same with the grotesque abberation, the volume of attacks from a scissorhand or cheap venom blade is better.
The camping dark lance squad can lose the blaster, while the raider squad should lose the shredder. Putting these squads both in raiders with splinter racks would make them very powerful against all nids.
You are taking way too much on your CCS. The medic and carapace armor won't help, but more guns will. Take more flamers if you want firepower, and krak grenades give the whole squad a weapon to use against MC's.
Give the vets triple melta or plasma for big bug hunting(even the lasguns wound on 6) or flamers for horde control, not both. Putting these in chimeras would be good.
The russes can't shoot the heavy flamers if they use the battlecannon, and if they are in range to need them it is dangerous anyways. Drop the sponsons for points elsewhere, and just camp back with the cannon.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Drop the sponsons for points elsewhere, and just camp back with the cannon. I should be getting my grubby hands on an Archon tomorrow, so I'll be sure to kit him out, and I've equipped my Dark Eldar with WYSIWYG, which is unfortunate as to the loadout, I'm also a fairly new DE player, so I only have 1 Raider at the moment.. I'll be sure to remove the sponsons, and, what would you recommend to add points on? As for the Veterans, again, WYSIWYG, the same with the Command Squad, I simply don't have enough models to beef out a CCS and 2 Vet Squads with heavy weapons, so I have to put a medic in there, and, as for the carapace armour, I just like that extra armour save.. You wouldn't think it, but as far as I'm concerned, it makes them a hell of a lot more durable So, turns out I've been waiting 3 days FOR THIS BLOODY ARCHON and he's not turned up yet. Very annoyed. I WANT HIM NOOOOOWW!
