Some time ago me and my brother decided to paint Epic scale forces of two Horus Heresy era Legions. He paints World Eaters, and I paint Imperial Fists. We would like to paint some units and then have fun refightning early stages of heresy, so our traitor forces still wears old white and blue pre-heresy colors. We don't know what rules we will use yet - I think it will be Epic tweaked for units from Forgeworld Horus Heresy books or Apocalypse tweaked for epic scale and with Horus Heresy force organistation.
This is a low priority project for both of us, still we have something painted (You can read more and see more photos on my blog - http://miniwojna.blogspot.com/search/label/Epic).

Those are so great. I just had to check this out from the title.

I have to say those world eaters are pretty amazing. It makes me want to start a 'little' force of my own.

Very nice. A lot of the Epic scale miniatures still have a Rogue Trader/2nd Ed vibe to them, and the scale is perfect of the huge battles of the Heresy.

Just an FYI, but I believe that older Epic sets are now starting to become discontinued so you may want to stock up now before ebay is your only source;

@Dreadclaw - yes, I'm aware of that. Fortunately my bro has everything he needs for his marines and eldars, and I have at least two companies, vehicles, dreds and titans too

One of your rhinos is backwards but the whole thing is so badass that it doesn't matter.

Yeah, I noticed that just after posting image, unfortunately I already packed everything so I just left it be as it is.
But as new warhound is ready and some more infantry, I will post updated post next time - together with my Imperial Fists.

Clearly the Rhino reversed up to drop off its squad! Really liking what you are both doing. The paint schemes work really well at this scale. How big are you aiming to make each of your forces?

Well, probably good answer is "big enough"
My brother still has "something big" to paint - probably something other then titan but at least as big. I know that he has some warlord titans, but he said that this will be kind of suprise for me, so I think this is not warlord. Then he has much more infantry - four or five times more then he has painted so far... About 6 predators (old style turrets 3d printed casted for us), some whirlwinds, some more rhinos for sure. Dreadnoughts....
And I still have like 8 land raiders, about 15 rhinos, two full companies of space marines infantry, predators, dreds... and I think three warlord titans.
We are also building custom cast jetbikes but they aren't ready yet.
I think our "ready" armies won't be very big for Epic, but we will probably use Apocalypse with some tweaking and HH force charts anyway...

Did he get his hands on an Imperator Titan?

As far as I know - no. We didn't buy latest Epic boxed set when it was available and I think he would inform me about buying one... And Imperial class Titan from HH would be much different then "current" one - without all cathedral thing on the back for instance, anyway.
I think he may have some knights, really old models from our early wargaming days, but they aren't so "big" as titan of course.

Ok, small update, this time it is Loyalists time...

Excellent, these area really nicely painted. That Warhound is particularly nice, weathering on white areas is perfect.

Yep, both Warhounds turned out nicely... but I think my bro's dreads are much better from purely modelling point of view.
