I am pretty sure this was answered already, but I think the topic fell off the board. Barrage weapons don't need line of sight, place template, roll scatter and two dice. Can this be placed on stealth suits, Daemonhunters (The Shrouding) and such?

I don't know the rules for stealth suits off the top of my head, but the shrouding doesn't protect against ordnance.

Maybe I was not clear. Stealth and Shrouding make you roll dice to spot the models before you can shoot at them. Can you place a Barrage weapon template over them without rolling to spot them? Barrage weapons do not need line of sight.

I just double checked the DH reference sheet on the UK site for shrouding. Guess and Ordnance weapons, if outside the dice roll range, apparently double the scatter result.

Barrage weapons count as night fighting against stealth suits, so they roll an additional d6 scatter.

If the firing unit can shoot without needing LOS (for example, it has an indirect fire option) then it can shoot at Grey Knights, or Stealth suits.

So its 3d take the highest?
I heard some people saying that you still had to roll distance because of targetting. I cry BS.

It depends on the rule in question. For Night Fighting, indirect fire weapons may fire regardless, but you might want to make the roll so that if you do spot them you can roll only one die for scatter distance as opposed to two dice taking the highest.
Stealth suits use a modified version of the Night Fight rules, so indirect weapons work the same way against them- you can fire either way, but if you spot them you can potentially reduce the scatter.
Harlequins with Veil of Tears have a DIFFERENT rule requiring a roll in order to target them, not to see them. Since indirect fire weapons only allow you ignore LOS requirements, they don't help against Harlies.

Against barrage:
If stealths are not in spotting range, and are out of LOS (most common), roll 2D6, pick highest, and add an additional D6 for maximum 12" scatter and average 8" scatter.
If stealths are in spotting range, and are out of LOS (second most common), roll 2D6 pick highest for average 4.5" scatter.
If stealths are in LOS, but out of spotting range, roll 2D6 scatter for maximum 12" scatter and average 7" scatter.
If stealths are in LOS, and in spotting range, roll D6 scatter for average 3.5" scatter.

Since you scatter double why wouldnt you roll 2D6, pick the highest, and then double it for your scatter?

Hmm, I think that's against grey knights cypher, it's definitely not against stealths.
