Asura kit-bash by Hellraiser on the Infinity home forum. I got his okay to post other places. He did this for a contest. I'm not sure of the size of the figure. It looks amazing though

Because of my stupid mistake in posting these I got him disqualified. I've taken the pictures down and have written the site doing the contest in the hopes he will be re-instated.

if you really want to see it go to the website E2046.com and see many of the great entries.

That's brilliant stuff, I think the 1/6 market is trending these days. It's easy to see why!

I've always wanted to try my hand at a figure like this but always afraid to. You really should know your airbrush for this and mistakes are even easier to see.

Yeh working at 1/6 must require a whole new set of sculpting and painting skills. Sounds like fun though. Creation at that scale is particularly exciting since you can actually start thinking about tailoring rather than sculpting.

There have a been a few that I've seen that have looked very cool and I'd get just to collect.

Really funky designs, you can pack in so much detail at 1/6.

Have you seen the guy doing 1/6 scale marines? Brilliant stuff.

Sadly, his entry has been disqualified. It does look remarkable.

What did it used to be? Looks like it may have been Samus in her zero suit at one time.

EDIT:

Yes it was:

My only guess is maybe theres isn't enough of his own work? He basically did a repaint (with added texture) and scratch built a gun. Does look amazing though.

There's still the iconic hexagons, the facial skin "cracks", and the scratch-built gun. It's almost unmistakably an Asura for anyone familiar with the source material. Disappointing to hear it got DQ'd.

I've seen the other entries and they are less that his! He did a custom figure. The others are just bought figures and painted. I don't get it.

Here is the contest link if you want to check it out or shove it in the OP or anything.

Edit: Ehh... Not sure what to say.

"Since your entry ASURA was reported by other members that she was released on other forum (http://www.dakkadakk...ist/525882.page), we will have to inform staff in charge of the Contest.
According to Contest Rules, Part C Point 5, your entry will be disqualified.
Sorry for this decision and your understanding is highly appreciated."

Also, I think this Samus is a PVC miniature.
And here's one of the rule :
Figure must be in resin. It CANNOT be a PVC figure or Plastic Model.

He still did an amazing job tho.

What is the model sitting on in the first couple of pictures? Looks like a rulebook but the cover isn't one I recognize.

@Casey's Law: 1st edition Infinity rulebook.

most painting contests don't allow minis to have been shown online before the end of the contest...
bummer of a way to get DQ'd, but live and learn...

it's a beautiful piece of work, for sure...

cheers

Ah that's why I don't recognise the cover art, thanks.

Yeh he shouldn't have given CDK the go ahead, a real shame. Still, great piece to be proud of.

Sorry to break the news, bud, but I knew you'd want to know. It's not your fault, these things happen. Hopefully the competition organisers reconsider after receiving your message.

Well I can at least say I tried. I guess I can put the images back up then. Their loss. Hellraiser said his model got 450 hits while the next best was only 50!

Hi Brian,

Nice to meet you. Thanks for your message concerning the entry in our GK Contest 2013.

That's lame, no one to blame really, just a little mistake and i can see why they wouldn't want to allow it. Oh well, we'll all just have to admire it a little more!
