So, since my beloved Dark Elves aren't gonna get a new book till next year and 9th edition, I figured, with the release of the new High Elf book, that I'd do up some pre-sundering reinforcements for them. This list is designed to be fluffy, fun, and still do decently in a comped tournament environment (Melbourne, Australia). Just FYI comp here is done out of 10, then with a comp-battle system. Basically, battle scores are 0-20. Final result per game is worked out by your battle score adding or subtracting half of the difference in your opponent and your own comp score. EG, I get comp 1 for a list. I beat a comp 9 list 20-0. Thus, my final score is 20 minus 8 divided by 2, ie 16.
Anyway, onto the list. My aim here is to represent one of the most (in)famous formations of the Nagarythe host, the Knights of Anlec. These guys are Malekith's Veterans, notably they are the ones who massacre the princes in the Shrine of Asuryan. I've used the newly Core Silver Helms to represent them. There are 2 units of archers to represent regular army troops as support. I know they later switch over to Repeaters, but at this point they still have their regular bows. 4 bolt throwers are there because they are integral parts of elven armies at this point in time (see 'Caledor') The mage is there for magical support, and a foreshadowing of what happens later with Morathi, dark magic, etc. BSB is representing Yaesir, the Commander of Nagarythe. Though never explicitly stated as carrying Malekith's banner, I figured, with Alandrian in the colonies, and him being the closest companion Malekith has left, he would probably carry it at some point. I've used Tyrion's rules to represent Malekith: Combat statline, magical flaming sword etc all fit. In addition, magic wise Malekith's battle magic is only described as hurling fireballs at stuff. Tyrion's flaming breath weapon represents that neatly. Anyway, let me know what you think of this.

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

—Captain Khârn of the World Eaters Legion's 8th Assault Company, from his unpublished treatise The Eighteen Legions
