Subject: Airbrush Hose Size

Right.. I'm starting to get pretty confused.
I have an airbrush albeit a cheap one and I'm getting confused over the hose sizes.
I bought this at the very start: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004BDA6I8/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But I now realise it is for connecting to a compressor.
But I aim to connect it to this
But I can't seem to find a) the size thread it needs
b) any hose that fits that description.
I know the regulator fits this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000BRLIIU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But I don't know what "size" that is.
Is there perhaps a adapter so I can use that smaller vinyl hose with my airbrush?
I'm finding it exceptionally hard to find websites for the UK though that sell airbrush adapters and the like. Hence I'm getting confused.
Any help would be appreciated, even just simply telling me the size measurement of that smaller hose.

Strait from the product details
Badger Air-Brush Co. #50-001 flexible and light weight Vinyl Air Hose measures 5-foot/1.52-meter. Recommended for use with any Badger or Thayer and Chandler airbrushes. For use with a compressor, #50-023 1/4-inch compressor adaptor is required. Proudly made in USA

Yes that is for compressor. I don't want a 1/4 Inch for a compressor
I THINK I want a 1/8 Inch for an airbrush but I'm not sure hence I am kinda asking for confirmation.
Thanks! but that doesn't help me with what im searching for...
I was wondering if anyone knew what size the smaller cable is called.
I THINK my airbrush connects via 1/8 inch but I have no idea what size the small vinyl hose is.. 1/16th?

Ah right I might have missed that detail. It's just a cheap starter Airbrush
Pretty much this
and I'm not using a compressor, im using a propellant can as they are much cheaper just to start with.

That's the cap that goes on a propellant can. Gonna go ahead and say it's 1/8 inch (3.175mm). Pick a hose from this link that has that size on both ends: http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/abairhose.aspx (Options 2,3, and 4 right off the bat) EDIT: I can't see it quite well in the picture, is that a quick-release on the bottom of the airbrush? Or is it threaded?

I'm pretty certain its threaded. But I'm new to this so don't hold me to that.

The picture shows half of the quick disconnect. You should have the other half somewhere. Just connect that to the hose and the other to the propellant cap and your good to go. The 1/4" hose should be the right one.
As an aside, You should pick up an inline water filter.

I don't think there is another half to it.
That was all that came with it.
I screw that bottom part off and then put the 1/4" on it.

Ahh its for the proppellant can's, no wonder i did not recognise it !
That piece on the end of your brush that looks as if its half a quick connector, is not a quick connector, its a barbed hose attachment for pushing on a rubber hose of appropriate diameter.
hopefully it will unscrew from the airbrush to reveal a 1/8inch thread which wil make life much easier for you I think.
The store I linked stock almost any attachments and adapters you will want for airbrushing, theyre pricey mind you but can certainly help you find what you're looking for.

Yeah I realise that i unscrew it but im having trouble finding a hose that fits both the regulator AND the airbrush
If someone could just tell me the size of the regulator then i'd be fine

Lol, said it before, it's 1/8 inch (3.175mm). Check that link I posted earlier, and grab a hose with the 1/8in on BOTH ends, as both the airbrush AND the regulator cap are 1/8in. So, unscrew the barbed hose attachment on your airbrush, attach hose to both airbrush and regulator, then turn on the regulator and you're good to go. EDIT: If you don't like the link I posted earlier, airbrush hoses, adapters, etc. can also usually be found on Amazon.co. uk

But I have a 1/4 + 1/8 hose for a compressor later and the 1/8 inch is too big for the regulator.
The regulator is smaller than 1/8th

Well, I just sent an email to Badger to see what size their "Badger PropelÂȘ Regulator" thread size is, and hopefully their answer can give us some results to get you moving.
Looking around the Wide World of Google, I can't find any hoses where the ends are any smaller than 1/8inch, so...
If I were you, I might contact the seller of your Propellant Regulator and ask them the size of the hose threads required to connect to it. Then, they can probably direct you to a source of a new hose to fit both your airbrush and regulator.
More good luck!

Ah thank you very much!
I think it is a badger made one ... it does say by "Badger Air-Brush Company" on Amazon. But maybe it's a counterfeit.

Those sneaky *@&$@(%$
Here's the reply from Badger's Customer Service:
Hello,
Are you referring to the end you screw the hose onto? If so, that is a thread size unique to Badger airbrushes - not quite 1/8" in.
thanks,
Candy
Not quite 1/8inch. So, either get a different regulator, or get a badger specific hose (which may or may not work with your airbrush).
