Hello people, I don't know how many of you people watch the show or read the books, but A Song of Ice And Fire is pretty cool. It would be even cooler if there were miniatures for them. So I was wondering about this:

-The Wildlings models= Corsairs of Umbar (LOTR models)
-Lannister Warriors models= Easterling Warriors (LOTR models)
-Stark Warriors models= Warriors of Rohan (LOTR models)
-Dothraki horsemen models= Haradrim Raiders (LOTR models)

...how is that for now?

I'd think that Historical models would work better, the LotR ones would be too instantly recognisable as LotR minis, Things like the perry Wars of the Roses plastics would work well for most of the houses.

The Darksword minis are cool for charachters, but are a bit more expensive and large than most. For mass battle there are alot of possibles in Historial and fantasy ranges

Here's a couple of discussions of such.

As well as sources, there's a few interesting kitbash/mixing suggestions here:

Specifically about 15mm forces, but lots of historical compairsons.

A big one:

Though as the OP points out, many LoTR figs could work, some folks might be a bit confused seeing the mixing of the two fantasy universes.

I'm a pretty dedicated 28mm gamer, but if I were going to try GoThrones gaming, I'd want to go large in scale, probably with 15mm figs to be able to play larger battles.
