I play a custom 1k sons warband called the son of deception. My story for the army is that the leader, Nehkbek, has several thralls and apprentices, he almost collects them. I want to start working on some conversions for a slaanesh and nurgle sorcerer for the warband, but want to here from the community what everyone thinks is the better out of the two?

Nurgle sorcerors are best in termi armor and up close where they can pop their nova, but that's only good if surrounded with nurgle marked troops. Slaanesh is the ranged option, and as such can be ran at lower points in power armor. Being able to cast sensory overload will drive enemy troops into the dirt without getting your hands too dirty.

I was thinking the Nurgle Sorc would have a force axe, termi armor, and one nurgle, one biomancy power

The slaanesh would have a power maul, power armor, and one slaanesh power, one telepathy power

I think its probably worth it to put both Sorcerer's in Terminator armor if you're not going to put them on a bike or steed. It's a lot of extra protection for a fair price.

Unmarked sorcerors work best IMO. ML3 with Spell familiar and 3 rolls on the BRB powers, no requirement to take those rather weak diety-specific powers either.

Yes but the OP is going for a themed army that uses marked Sorcerers.

He also suggested Nurgle sorceror in a Thousand Sons list, so an unmarked sorc is hardly outta left field. He says nothing of the sort about it having to be marked, he wants to know which is the best. Unmarked is arguably better than both options presented

I agree, and I have plans to put an unmarked in the list at some point (a sorc dressed up as word bearer sorcerer) but I was just curious as to what people's idea on nurgle and slaanesh sorcerers are.

Unmarked is the best sorcerer. Almost all of the CSM god powers are subpar. If I had to choose between Nurgle or Slaanesh... probably Slaanesh. That table has less duds.

Besides the lores of magic remember the Nurgle one will be immune to instant death due to power fists or battle cannons. Due to that and that I always try to get into close combat I'd go with Nurgle

CSM 10k points
IG 3k points
Orks 2k points
WoC 3.5k points
VC 2.5k points

Slaanesh has some pretty dang good powers. The primaris doesn't blow, and if you roll for the seizure power...oh bby. I killed 15 ork boyz with that power. Great rolling by me, poor rolling by him, but it's a fun power. If you're talking competitive then unmarked is absolutely the way to go.
