Just finished building my second Tau Riptide and I decided to try my own pose. Let me know what you guys think!

I left the knee joints unglued, they stay on very well so I can repose them. Can't wait to paint it!

You are a braver man than I putting it on that flying stem, looks great though.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Haha thanks! That is actually the one thing I'm very worried about, it's actually pretty wobbly when moved by the stand and I'm sure it's putting a very heavy load on the thing plastic stem... do you recommend any alternatives?

You could bulk up the base a couple of cm at the connection point, and replace the stem with a heavier rod like a piece of wooden dowel, or even a cut down old knitting needle (paint it black when you're finished to make it stand out a little less).

I would recommend using a needle. I used the same idea for my suits and it really helps with stability.

I would use some carbon fiber or brass rod instead of the plastic stem. That's just begging to snap off. Carbon fiber rod and brass rod are very strong an rigid, but you will need to dig a little deeper into the model to fixate it. Not too difficult, though. The pose looks great, though.

I would almost say to get a flyer base stem if one is available.

If I might suggest, a magnetized custom flyer/skimmer stand might be just what the doctor ordered for this pose.

Definitely sturdier than the little ones that come in the box, easier to work with, and has a bit more heft when added to the base. Oh and in flocking your base I'd add some weight there too, to help with keeping him from tipping over!

Otherwise that looks very well done!

One of the video sites (can't remember which) uses bicycle spokes. Drill a hole in the base, insert spoke with a couple of 90 degree bends and add resin to make it sturdy.
