Subject: Tau Desert Warriors -- A Plog For The Greater Good.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Well then, My Sons of Horus are nearly complete and I felt like changing the pace a bit, Here is a fresh plog for my Tau. I will also include a little back story behind this army.
When I first got into the hobby, Tau immediately caught my attention from childhood memories of Robotech and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I built a 1000pt Tau force and played them for a few games before falling into the warm and loving embrace of The God Emperor. My Tau were sidelined and eventually sold to my brother when I convinced him to join up. Since then I have gone through quite a few armies and come full circle, it is time for a fresh look at Tau for me. With that little bit out of the way I can give a little story on why I chose the coloring that I did.
My story for this army is that they are a Sept who specializes in desert warfare, however they are also fiercely loyal to O'Shova. Sharing his dedication for fighting in the name of the Tau Empire, they split off along with Farsight's Cadre. Keeping their desert sand armor, though their sept markings and colors show their allegiance to Farsight's cause. The army will be based to match my Realm of Battle which was originally built as an Imperium Installation, Luckily for me I decided at one point it would be fun to make an Ork junkyard map (Until I realized the dedication to making every piece of terrain out of junk bits). This leaves me with an insane amount of crazy Imperium junk to litter on the bases!
With that behind us... Here is the first model! I hope you enjoy.

"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

Yup, Fire warriors, a bunch of Crisis, Riptide, Hammerhead. Unfortunately I think these guys are going to sit for a bit, my roommate and I just picked up the Warmachine starter and after painting 4500pts of Sons of Horus I need a little break from the 40k style.

Love the little lightning strike on his weapon. Looks ace, although, and this could just be the pictures, some starker highlighting might help him. He looks a tad flat.

hahaha yeah, same thing with the broadside, he is completely edge highlighted and the lighting just mutes it. Thanks for the compliment on the sword effect!

I did the same thing with my tau army. and I loved it. I sold it on ebay about two years ago and i really regret it. Only difference is i did a desert yellow and rotting flesh scheme to blend in with more of a sage desert

How did you get such good coverage with all your paints? Do you airbrush or something else.

The desert tan is airbrushed, everything else is done the old fashioned way!
