Okay, so this is my second game and my friends first game, using only my models that I had on me, the pts are exactly 500
So the Dark Angels:
Company Master with boltguns, bolt pistol and power sword

Librarian with PF generator

5x Marines, one with plascan

5x marines with plasma gun and plaspistol

3x RW bikers one with plasma gun

Necrons were one Overlord with Warscythe

5 immortals with tesla carbines
15 Necron warriors

Two destroyer lords with heavy gauss cannons

The Map: narrative terrain, two bases in each corner of a 4x4 board (objectives went here), a mysterious river dividing it equally along the diagonal
Game: Emperor's Will
Deployment: Dawn of War
Necrons win roll for deployment and first turn, angels fail to seize
Necrons (me) deploy warrior blob into cover on the objective, immortals (joined by lord) and destroyers deploy side by side as close to the edge of the river as possible
Angels deploy as far forward as possible, at the edge of the river, ready to sock it to the Necrons.
Librarian rolls on TK and gets terrify takes it since he really has no idea what we wants to try

First turn:
Everyone shifts around, but the two destroyers jump to the other side of the immortals, away from my board edge and the left board edg toward center of the board
Potshots from everyone at the Company master/plasma gun/pistol squad. Kills one marine, due to bad placement, it's the plasma gun guy
Dark Angels shift around as well, the plas squad and bikes shoot at immortals and kill two, I forget to take reanimation protocols and they stay dead. Plascan shoots at Destroyers, hits both, fails to wound

Second turn:
Warriors move as far from the objective as possible, get 4 within range, destroyers move farther to the other side of the board, everyone opens fire on the company master squad again, kills one more marine. Immortals and lord charge across the river and all over watch shots miss, makes the charge through difficult terrain, river turns out to be iceblood, none die to dangerous terrain. Close combat starts (and lasts the whole game) lord challenges, company master accepts. We resolve that combat first, CM swings first and puts one wound on the overlord, The Lord swings back and misses, then the rest of the Marines swing at the immortals and knock one over (here is where a fellow Necron player reminds me of reanimation) and the remaining two swing back and gank marine, leaving one marine and the sergeant left standing. The immortal gets back up to join the fight.
Dark Angels, the bikes move up and around the combat, librarian and squad shift around to get better angles and ranges. Librarian casts terrify on the Necron destroyers but nothing happens. Cannon and boltguns as well as TL bolters and rapid plas fire into the cron warriors on the objective, knocking over 4, but they pass morale and three stand back up.
The company master knocks over the lord, space marines kill one immortal, swing back and cause two wounds that go to the regular marine and sergeant. The Lord does not stand back up (so CM will be back in combat next turn) but the immortal (same one as earlier) stands back up

Turn Three:
Warriors stay put, destroyers move another 12 towards enemy deployment zone, everything else stays put. Warriors and destroyers fire at the bikes, quite a few hits but only the cannons wound and he makes both 5 up covers.
Combat, the master swings first, three hits, one wound, same guy goes down and he stands back up for the third time!
Immortals swing back (the two that aren't pulling a Saint Celestine) and get one wound through, reducing him to two.
Dark Angels, plasma cannon and boltguns as well as plasma guns and TL boltguns open fire on the warriors again, getting plenty f hits and wounds but I made all my 4+ armor against the bolters and 5+ cover against plasma. The bikes try to charge, over watch and get nothing, and the bikes fail a 5 inch charge because of difficult terrain. Sad day.

Turn 4: the destroyers hop over the river into his deployment zone and like they have been, open up with the warriors on the bikes... 3 wounds, two save, plasma guy dies
Combat again, company master swings and whiffs, getting 1 hit, and failing to wound, immortals hit back, get 3 hits, 2 wounds and he saves both of them.
Dark Angels, the librarian and plasma can squad book it for the objective behind them, moving six and running four
Bikes move four inches towards the warriors and rapid fire, getting two unsaved wounds, but they pass LD and stand back up (at this point my opponent is getting real sick of me making the zombie bots 5+ reanimations) the bikes then charge and in over watch, I get 4 hits, 4 wounds and he fails 3 of his saves. The bikes are wiped off the board, losing him line breaker and his hope for removing my warriors from my objective

Turn 5:
Necron destroyers stay put and shoot at the librarian squad. Roll snake eyes on the gauss cans to-hits. I guess I had to pay for all those reanimations. Warriors had nothing to shoot at so they stayed put
Combat again, two immortals (who lived up to their name) versus a company master, swings 4 times, gets two hits, and no wounds. Both immortals live to see another day (and keep the game from being a draw) immortals swing back and get two hits, two wounds, both saved.
His turn, plas can fires at the only warrior in range hoping to scatter any number of inches toward y objective and clear them from within the two inches of it. Scatters off completely in a different direction.
In combat, everyone whiffs their rolls. 6 misses all around.

So at the end of the game:
Necrons: Warrior blob on obj - 3, destroyer linebreaker - 1, bike squad - 1, plas combat squad - 1, six points total
Dark Angels - Librarian squad on obj - 3, Slay the warlord - 1, Necron Overlord (being an independent unit) - 1, five points total

Necron victory!!

After action thoughts. This game was really amateur and we both made a lot of mistakes but we had a lot of fun. The dice gods were definitely in my favor methinks. Making close to 15 reanimation protocols in such a small points game was HUGE. Those immortals were truly immortal, tying up that company master for a full three turns with no support and their staying alive when they should have been swept away by that company master kept the game score from being tied up

If his bikes had survived or made the charge the first time, they would have pulled my warriors off the objective and gotten linebreaker which would have put him at 6 pts and me at 2, but those 4 sixes on over watch adding up to three unsaved wounds was brutal.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my first battle report and our first foray together into 40k, I hope to bring you more as we actually pick and collect and paint up our armies. And I hope to have pictures next time!

Suggestions for writing these battle reports are absolutely welcome. As for playing, we knew lots of things would get messed up, we just wanted to play and learn the rules. Next time we'll be much better about keeping track and following rules and playing to the best of our ability.
Cheers

I liked it, but it did get a bit hard to follow in the later turns. I think just starting new lines a little more often, making it easier to read through and see new actions occuring would help.

And photo! Always photos

Thanks for the feedback man, I tried to organize it as best as possible but since I forgot to take pictures it was really difficult to track where and when actions happened so I just tried to do an overall what happened and try my hand at writing battle reports
