Well I decided to paint my self some pre heresy alpha legion. I always loved the alpha legion back ground and how they worked. Originally I wanted to use them at local tournament summer solstice in York but now eldar are coming out may have changed my mind about that. I was gonna use them as Grey knights, for a low model count due to lack of funds. In the end I bought 15 terminators and 1 contemptor dreadnought.
Here's the first 10 painted. I had to do the symbol free hand which is something I usually avoid. Hope you like them

The paint job is looking good, maybe could use some of the green lightning they're known for?

I love those bases though, just stunning.

These look really nice, I've always loved this pattern of termies.
If anything I would give the chest decorations another wash and try to straighten that sword.(is it me or is it wonky)

Your paint job is amazing. The drybrushing you've done really brings out the color.

The posing isn't really doing it for me, though. I'm not sure if you did any conversion work on them, or if they came that way, but on several of them the legs look very robotic and stiff. I think you could really improve the look of several of them if you gave them a little more bend to their knees.

Thank you very much god you all like them! The green is on the normal ones not the pre heresy ones, but was very tempted to do the eyes green. Not really sure why I didn't do them green.

Yeah think I will try another wash thanks! As for the sword I keep straightening it and well it seem to like going back.

It could be bad placing from me. The feet have more movement in them than most terminators but you can really pose the legs very much with out cutting them up alot.

Going to be honest, they're well-painted but the color's not quite right for pre-heresy Alpha Legion. Before the heresy, their armor was a purple-blue or indigo color. This is more of a post-heresy scheme with less green.

Well, Emperor's Children were straight purple. This is more of a purplish blue, like this:

They're your models though, paint them how you will. Just giving some input that, to me, they don't really look in-line with the Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion. It's like painting Space Wolves in a blue-gray and saying they're Pre-Heresy, when in Pre-Heresy times they were a more of a dark gray. But again, they're your minis, so paint them in a way that you like.

I'm a fan of the dark blue, whether it's totally cannon or not (says the spacewolves player with dark blue-grey marines and white rune priests....) They are really solid blocks of color though. I would like to see their emblem brought down onto their shin guards as well as on their shoulders. It would add some more interest. You could even just do a stripe or something if you didn't feel like doing the whole emblem again.

See personally I always like to paint things different and when I ever I try to make things normal it goes wrong. I should just paint the fists red and be done with it. Lol
