Ok, I love the idea of adding more Tzeentch to my current army (Mainly because before 6th ed codex came out, I played Nurgle/Tzeentch, now its even less fluff supported then before -_-) Since I can already run my Nurgle as a solo force (Just about) I wanted to focus a bit on the more colourful side of chaos. I don't currently have the funds to support a 25 quid kit for a minor HQ choice, I'm still smarting over the 30 quid codex. Now I've got a few ideas for my chariot conversion, I was thinking of using an old CD as the chariot itself and using the claws from my old arachnid warriors around the edges, some green stuff for flames and glyph's with my herald stood in the middle imperiously waving the chariot forward and pointing at the next unit to get turned into psychedelic charcoal . Essentially a massive Disc of Tzeentch. My only concern is I don't want to get called for MFA and I'm worried if a CD would represent the size of the damned thing.

TLDR: Is a CD around about the right size for a Chariot of Tzeentch?

The official GW model comes on an oval base like those used by Trygons and dreadknights, so you'd need to extend the base a bit.
However, as far as value is concerned the exalted flamer/
Herald kit is actually a comparatively amazing deal for 35 bucks. You get the flamer, the herald , the chariot, 3 horrors and 2 screamers along with a heap of tzeentch bits. If you're just running it as a herald on chariot you can set the flamer up as a separate lord and get a bunch of extra guys. There's enough bits in there to make 2 heralds on chariots if you skimp a bit.

Yes, getting the base size (and model height) right is v important outside friendly games. In fact for Tzeentch, master of mutation, I'd say it's almost the only limitation - the chariot itself can look like almost anything.
