This is a project that is really important to me. Right now im in the process of painting up an Orc Blood Bowl Team for the Birthday of my older Brother. He isnt into tabletop games but is interested in boardgames and mentioned some time ago that blood bowl caught his interest. Since he just wouldnt have the time to paint his own team (not that he has any painting skills at all) i decided to take that into my hands. I never had the opportunity to find a good birthday present for him in the past. This is bound to change this year!
I decided to buy an orc team because they are an "allround" team. Since he never played blood bowl before i wasnt able to decide which team to take from his preference (and because this should be a surprise ). An orc team can be played brutal or tactical depending on the skills you pick. They are resilient enough to compensate for some mistakes and they are orcs ... what else do i have to say?

I went for a clean look on the armor plates. Initially i wanted to do chipped paint and stuff but i liked the look of the orange when i was done with highlighting. So these are orcs that are rich enough to always wear brand new armor . The models are a from Gaspez Arts, Neomics and Black Scorpion Miniatures.

I go for (and have bought) 4 Blitzers from Gaspez Arts, 2 Lineman(Gaspez Arts), 4 Black Orcs (Neomics), 1 Thrower (Neomics) and 1 Troll (Black Scorpion Miniatures). This will give him the possibility of playing either 2 Lineman, no troll and 3 Rerolls or 1 Lineman and 1 Troll with 2 Rerolls. No model will be the same pose.

Spoiler:

Updated Brighter Pics of the Blitzer (Gaspez Arts):

And the newly finished Thrower (Neomics):

And bob the Blocker

Looks good, though the pictures are a little dark.

"Do you have a map of the cat?" - Richard Feynman

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

Fair enough, you can only make do with what you've got I suppose

I like that Blitzer. You will have a good looking team for your brother.

May the dice be with you!

Updated the first post with pictures of the thrower i finished yesterday and that i am very pleased with.

Also ive taken new pics of the Blitzer

Next model i go for will be the Troll (Black Scorpion Miniatures)

Teaser:

I want to name all of them but im not that creative. Perhaps someone knows a good name for the team or the players. Only name i came up with was "Orcwork Orange". I'd call that a working title

Also i decided to run this thread as a blog to be able to post some WIP Pics.

Glad to see some of these models getting painting on them I love the looks of the models on the website, but can't tell if its because the models are great or the paint job is over the top. Seeing wip pics helps me to tell if my quality paint job will suffice.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13
I cant believe theo is right.. damn. -comradepanda 9/26/13
None of the strange ideas we had about you involved your sexual orientation..........-Monkeytroll 12/10/13

I'd put you on ignore for that comment, if I could...Alpharius 2/11/14

Models of which company are you referring to? I can say that the sculpt and casting quality of gaspez arts and neomics is top notch. Gaspez had some venting and flesh that had to be removed but nothing that cant be done in a few minutes. The Neomics models didnt even have mold lines to clean off. I was very pleased with them.

The black scorpion troll is completely different story. Took a lot of clean up and the casting quality isnt really good.

Also WIP Shot of Bob the Black Orc. No highlights. So far only base colors applied. His name was easy to tell .

So in the end ... i didnt paint the troll but wanted to finish Bob . Sadly the picture washes out most of the highlights. The skin doesnt look that flat in person... what do you guys think about the altered basing scheme i tried on bob? There will be field outlines that i do with small white stone chips. Will post pictures about that.

I also think i wont b painting the troll as next but one of the blitzers or lineman.

Most probably this one:

Doesnt anyone have any ideas on names?
