As the title says - does a destroyed fortification count for First Blood? I'm pretty sure it doesn't as the rules state that it only counts for a unit removed as a casualty and fortifications aren't removed but my mates wanted me to check as I said it didn't.

Fortifications are not units. They're terrain. First Blood happens when the first full unit is destroyed/"removed as a casualty".

First Blood requires a unit to be removed. A fortification isn't a unit.
