So my shop had a recent argument. about me running a 7 man squad with a razorback. My FAQ said i can take a razorback with more then 6 models. I have been running the razorbacks as exra tanks in my army. am i doing something wrong
Other people have been droping drop pods that are empty and deploying the troops on the field. I have seen a few forums say that this is ok because of misinterpretation. so what do you guys think. also why can space marines do this and not dark eldar even though the wording i the same. i double checked on army builder and all razorbacks can be deployed with a large squad but dark eldar loose the option. any idea why?

You can buy a 10 man unit of marines and a razorback for that unit. You can deploy them in two separate locations, as they are two separate units.

The wording in the Codex SM, and the wording in the Dark Eldar book are not identical. the DE book restricts the squad to a certain size in order to have the option to buy a transport.

Right. The SM codex allows certain units to select a Razorback as a transport and makes no restriction of that option based on squad size.
Other codices vary. Dark Eldar, for example, have a general rule under their Dedicated Transports that a squad is only allowed to select a transport if they can fit in it.

Many codices do not have a restriction on purchasing a transport you can't fit in.
And with Combat Squads you potentially can fit inside so there's still that.
There is also no blanket rule you can only buy a transport you can fit inside.
As for why has GW done this?
Who knows. Prior to the current DE codex I would have said it was simply some codices being old.
