Hey guy's, just my idea for a 2000 point list for the blood angels

HQ
Librarian, divination powers.

Troops
5x5 assault marines w/ Razorback w/ heavy bolter
1x5 assault marines w/ razorback w/assault cannon

Elites
2x furioso dread with blood talons+heavy flamer talon w/ drop pod w/storm bolter
1x furioso librarian with wings of sanguinius + blood lance.

Fast
3 x Baal Predator w flamestorm cannon

Heavy
2 x predator w/ autocannon and heavy bolter sponsons
1 x predator with lascannon

Idea is similar to a horde army, but using vehicles instead of infantry. People have packed so much into anti infantry now, that this will simply be too many vehicles coming in too fast for them to deal with. Furioso's land and draw anti-tank fire, allowing everything else to burn or blast away any other threat's to tanks, meaning the enemy will have a very hard time shifting you after this

My friend runs a very similar list but he has all las/plas on his razorbacks and that does a lot more then those heavy bolters will and all the preds should be autocannon las for most effective killing the furisos aren't bad but try and put a pod on the librarian one just so the other two both come in.

Takes away from the point though. I could have say, 8 vehicles with the "best" weaponry available, or 15 vehicles with less killy weaponry. It matters very little that the weapons are a little less killy, because I have a lot more of it.

With people less inclined to take vehicles these days, anti-infantry weapon tanks en masse, that can handle light to medium vehicles in a pinch, is fine by me Lascannons seem like a waste to me, i'd rather glance vehicles to death. And on the off chance someone bring's a land raider (Which I rarely, if ever see) I have enough tanks to just be able to ignore it, the landraider may get really really lucky and kill a tank a turn, but that only means 6 or so when the list has 15.

A friend of mine has a similar theme for his army:

Librarian (Sheild of Sanguinius for 5+ Cover on his tanks)
2 x 5 Man Assault Squads (no jump packs)

2 Landraiders
2 Vindicators
1 Stormraven
1 Baal Predator with Flamestorm Cannon and 2 Heavy Flamers
1 Baal Predator with Twin Linked Assault Cannon and 2 Heavy Flamers

what do you do in objective games? all things considered your opponents have a couple turns to ignore most of the army in an effort to kill 3 vehicles and 15 bodies. they accomplish that and boom. game over.

Any particular tactic that negates that? I feel like a list with 2 flyers would have a field day.

that said, any time 6 red preds hit the table i get a hard on.

Well, it's 6 scoring units in 6 transports, odds are even if the enemy has fliers, one or two of those will survive, while i pour shots into said threats.

Plus, being in transports, and in such small groups of infantry, It's pretty much immune to helldrakes, and any damage they do do, is mitigated by redundancy. Doesn't matter what they kill, when I have 3-6 of them anyway.

It sounds awesome.
But I would like to see THREE drop pods, just so you can land 2 in the first turn

Forget the books powers for the libby dread and give it a drop pod. Give it divination and prescience its buddy the talon dread.

Another real option not to overlook: make 3X TL HB razors into TL HF. I have had a lot of success with these since they only cost 20 pts. The TL HF is a really devastating weapon in 6th, since you manipulate the side of the squad you flame from, and it ignores cover shenanigans. I give the guys inside flamers and hand flamers, but I see you aren't using gear.
