I'm moving to this fine town from California this week. I am looking for any 40k and WFB players (I prefer 40k).

Any players in that area?

I'm always up for a game if you don't mind driving down to Plano.

Cortez667 I work in Sherman and could play sometime after work. I have only played a few times on 5th ed. I want to learn 6th would you want to teach a newb?

Sure, no problem. I'm not sure if there are any places to play around here, though.

After doing a bit of googling around the only place I can see where you might be able to play is Big Bobs Cards and Comics, but I've never been there so I can't say for sure. If you don't mind the hour long drive there is a Games Workshop in Denton Tx that has a pretty good community.

Found a place, called Secret Door, here in Sherman. They have open gaming whenever. Greendestiny, what days work for you?

Also, do you have an army to learn with? If not, I can bring on of my armies for you to use.

I have a Dark Angels Army. I haven't finished it so what I have may not build a great army but I have enough stuff to put together up to 2000 points. I am more available in the evenings after 5:00 or 6:00 PM. I just need a few days ahead of time to schedule time away from my summer evening job. I also have time on Monday the 27th since I am off work.

Well, the one place to game is closed tomorrow, so that's out.... why check out there FB page, look at their shop hours and let me know what works for you?

Sounds good. I looked up their their FB page but didn't find the store hours for for week nights. I could meet Wednesday or Friday.

Just looked myself, your right, no store hours. That's stupid.
I'll call tomorrow when they are open and find out what the hours are for Wednesday and Friday and let you know.

I went to the FLSG today and found that they are open until 7:00 PM I work until 6:30 this week so I won't be playing theis week. On the up side there were people their playing when I stopped by. They seem to have a pretty active group of gamers in Sherman so if you stop in you can probably get a game in.

The issue I've encountered is this: the local gamers only go there when they already have a game set-up. Sitting around with my army hoping someone else shows up with an army and wants to play doesn't sound like a good time to me. Tried posting on their Facebook group, no hits.

Oh well.

There are two places I have played at. One is Madness Games ans Comics in Plano and the second in Comics Asylum in Richardson. both are good shops run by cool people. But Madness is the bigger of the two places and is usually easier to get a table.

Maddness is where I do most of my local shopping. It is a great store and the owners are cool. They have a great sale every December that even includes GW!

So yeah...I'm up for a game at either one this weekend.

May sound ironic but I also currently play Dark Angels.

Cool, I picked up my dark angels when the previous new book came out, the one everybody hated. I loved the models and didn't know anything about the game. I have been working on my DA army ever since.

So are we wanting to set a time up?

Is anyone still interested in setting up a game?

I am.

Heading down to Wargames Con this weekend, but anytime after that, I am open.

As a side note, while I do play DA, I have IG, Blood Angels, and Dark Eldar that I could also bring. My Dark Eldar are not for the faint of heart, just to give fair warning. :-)
