I feel like it should, because even though allies of convenience can't target their allies with psychic powers, the rules to state that allies caught in the area of effect of a non-directed psychic power are effected by it. the KFF is technically not a psychic power, but it seems like the closest analogy covered by the rules.

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.

War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

I suspect that it isn't supposed to, but it looks like for the moment at least it does.

Then again, strict RAW at the moment the KFF is back to allowing the save for enemy units as well... They fixed that in the FAQ in 5th edition, but for 6th they appear to have missed it when they erratad the KFF's save value.

Comparing it to a psychic power is really neither here nor there, it's not one, so rules applying to them have no bearing.

Fact is, the KFF doesn't specify only working for friendly units, so yes, any unit within 6 inches gains the cover save, including allies of convenience.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I don't think it's supposed to, but it seems like RAW it does.

It certainly does. hence the wording ALL units and friendly vehicles.

I suppose 'all units' would include your opponent's as well.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

It does, but probably shouldn't. Again, this was FAQd in 5th edition to only apply to your own units. While that FAQ doesn't currently apply, it seems unlikely that GW would have changed their minds on that.

From the FAQ:

“A kustom force field gives all units within 6" of the Mek a cover save of 5+. Friendly vehicles within 6" are counted as being obscured and have a 5+ cover save”.

I was a tad dissapointed when I noticed it restricted the bonus to friendly vehicles only. No Monolith with a 5+ for me :(
Any other kind of unit is fine, including your opponent's.

Where does it say that your vehichles don't get cover saves? It says all units get a cover save the faq only addresses what happens if a friendly vehicle is within the bubble. A vehicle is still a unit regardless whether enemy or friendly, otherwise you wouldn't be able to target them with weapons and the like, and therefor gain a cover save. So don't worry the berlin wall is still a useable tactic
