If I take Coteaz as my warlord(reroll seize) and then take a detachment of dark Eldar and take the one Special Archon Vect (seize on 4+), do I get a 4+ re-rollable seize the initiative? I checked the faq and found nothing. Something like his was once possible with necrons as ally, by taking the stormlord, until the most recent faq that emended the codex stating he has to be your warlord.

Let me know what you guys think.

Seems legit, unless/until they FAQ it.

Right behind you...

But... But... wait... How would you 'forge the narrative' with Coteaz and Vect fighting together??? :-)

I don't think this sounds right.

Those rules are model specific. Either Vect or Coteaz is the one "making" the roll. So either you get a 4+ or a reroll...

HIWPI: I wouldn't like this one bit (and I play both DE and GK).

Except no individual model makes the Seize the Initiative roll. Its done by the player.

Coteaz and Vect simply modify the roll. Nothing prevents them from stacking.

At least the opponent "knows" who is going first and can deploy for that eventuality if forced to deploy first.
I would anticipate a FAQ for it at some point. iirc, Immotekh's seize was changed to specify it only works when he's your Warlord.
But until such a time, it's completely legit to stack.

That's what.. 400pts for a guaranteed first turn? And, I don't think Grey Knights and Dark Eldar would work very well together, I play Dark Eldar, trust me xD

A BA + GK army with Corbulo and Coteaz could have a 4++ to seize the initiative!

sure its legit, coteaz specifically is not the one making the rule, and he doesnt have to be your warlord to grant the reroll,

I prefer to go 2nd anyway, 1st turn usually isnt as much as an advantage as getting the last turn to cap stuff.

as someone mentioned its spending 400ish points on a gimmick that really isnt going to be a game breaker most of the time.

that being said, Id make sure my opponent was at least aware of the special rules I was stacking,

I suppose it depends on if you are using the stupid first blood rule as written?

This rule is legal and has been done before.

what also works is vect or imhotekh with Corbulo.

The nice thing about Corbulo is his is just a re-roll - so if you don't use it to sieze the initiative, you can use it later on in the game.
