Anyone else getting this game? I loved the first one which i got in the THQ humble bundle, I loved the atmosphere, one of the few games that made me jump on repeated occasions
And PC gamer have just reviewed it, only gave it 80% but games like: Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and fallout are some of my favourite types of games.
Just don't have the money to spend on a 50-60 dollar game.
The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Will definitively be getting this one, the two books from the same universe was extremely good. And the first game stayed true to it so my hopes are up!
Ill be renting it from redbox hopefully. I loved the first one, it was the only gamefly game I bothered trying to get all the achievements for when I still used gamefly.
Easily more excited about this then anything else coming out anytime soon.
Yeah the omission of ranger mode is pretty lame in my opinion. I don't see the sense behind it really, I hope they'll see sense and release it pre-release. Madness.
The first game caught my eye but I never played it. I was interested in this too until I heard about the DLC and paying for a difficulty level that is most likely on the disc.
Developer's shady practices over DLC are leaving me cold (I'm looking at you EA).
Sorry, I should have made my last post clearer. I meant that I'm tired of DLC for things that are on the disc, or otherwise put aside during initial development, and I meant that EA was one of the worst offenders. Sorry for the confusion.
Really a great game, and after reading about how bad the working conditions were and how stuff had to be smuggled into the country it really shows how great the development team is. This is at the top of my list for this year so far. Enjoyed that it kept alot of the same from the original, and was nice to see some small but new features.
As far as the ranger mode goes I could care less, people complain about pointless pre order bonuses no matter what they are, and since they charged for ranger mode the first time around (at least on 360) I dont see what the big deal is, you can still play on hard mode without having ranger mode, and there is time after the game goes gold that companies make DLC, I dont know if ranger mode is on the disc or not but its no big loss to me if I cant play it.
Wasn't there a big hubbub over the fact that there's a part of the game where they essentially went 'screw gameplay, plot, atmosphere... We're sending Artyom to a strip club'?.

I think they were going for a sort of "decay of decency" sort of thing, like with the brothel in Darkness II, but here it was a bit off.
If it was maybe done in a subtler manner, methinks. If it was in a small corner of the Metro, if the women were genuinely unpleasant to look at (hint hint), if it actually helped you, rather than being one of the most in-depth dances in a video game...

I think its funny that everyone keeps bringing up the virtual lap dance or whatever when you have the obvious choice to skip it and leave the room immediately.
''I hate strippers in games but Im gonna pay the 5 bullets to see it because take that!''
My minor gripe with the game is how advanced the weapons and weapon parts are, but I guess that has to be with D6?

There was a brothel in the first book so I don't see how a strip club would adversely affect the atmosphere. If its an incidental detail and doesn't become some sort of Duke Nukem homage there is nothing wrong with it.
I enjoyed the first game (although the good ending was far too hard to get IMO, I don't mind it being hidden but there were too many hoops to jump through to actualy get it) so I will will be getting this as well.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.
