I've been playing cryx and circle for 2 years now, and ive never seen a cygnar player or played against one in my local gaming community so I wanted to mix things up for myself and start playing them my choice of caster would be pHaley to start, I am wondering what kind of models wouuld be necessary to have to begin a cygnar army

Cygnar is a rather unforgiving faction to play but you should be used to that coming from circle. You will need to adjust to not having crazy melee threat ranges though.

More specifically for Haley:
-You'll want a squire to extend the range of temporal barrier and blitz. The extra focus is also welcome when your spending four per turn on just one spell.
-Thorn is quite good if you like to arc chain lightning. The vanilla lancer is a bit of a flop but combat casting is so good Thorn can't be ignored.
-Haley makes an accurate faction even more accurate with her spells. You may want to look for ways to increase damage rolls or volume of attacks while playing her. The opponent won't just line up their troops to die after all.
-No best infantry or best jacks exist for her. I suppose you could say stormwall is the best jack, but at twice the cost of a heavy, it had better be. She plays only slightly better with ranged elements than melee since she can make both more accurate and grants more of any kind of attacks.

There are two things that must be included with either version of Haley.

1) Squire
2) ATGM + UA, actually these guys are auto include in most lists. They have amazing board control with the UA they ignore stealth camo and conceal which makes them a threat to sneaky Stealth units.

On top of that. Some people run an arcnode I personally do not. If you are going to I don't personally think Thorn is worth the 2 extra points with pHaley. Again the only reason you are bringing him is for the node not much else.

I am big on single jack lists so for me it is usually a heavy (Ol' rowdy 99% of the time) and then infantry. Ol' rowdy is hands down the best jack Cygnar has in that he is absolutely fantastic with his focus efficiency charging and running for free and hits like a truck when he gets to combat. Stick with him Arlan is my tactic usually and have some fun with it.

All that being said my recommendations for units is as follows:

- Squire
- Ol' Rowdy
- Gun Mages + UA
- Black 13th
- Greygore Boomhowler & Co or Horgenhold Forgeguard
- Arlan Strangeways
- Hunter
- Stormwall (expensive but an absolute monster)
- Defender (if you don't want stormwall)
- Sword Knights (if you run a lancer)
- Some people love Storm*nouns* I personally hate them
- Stormclad (pretty good heavy jack but I prefer Rowdy)

Knowing what you want your army to do is a huge thing. Once you figure that out Cygnar generally has a way to achieve it.
