When taking wounds from Demonic instability must you take whole models or can you as stated in the Daemon codex place the wounds as per owning player?
This could allow said player to put one wound on multiple wound hounds if they were the target. Thus allowing models to remain on table rather than taking whole figures.
RB ( came up in a game that sparked a large controversy ).

There is no rule any longer requiring you to take whole models first. However, there is a rule requiring you to continue allocating wounds to a model until it is dead, or you run out of wounds.

Neither of the wound allocation matters at this point RAW though.
I always do it as per shooting or CC though, but chose which models take the wound (and carry on taking it if mutli wounds)

That rule applies to wounds from Shooting attacks (which is also applied in melee). How would this apply to wounds from Instability?

Because you have no other way of removing and allocating wounds.

Got a page that tells you how to allocate wounds without referencing the shooting rules?
If not then how do you know how to allocate wounds, what does allocate wounds mean?
(Page reference please, but not the shooting rules or the CC rules as the latter references the former).

Yup. The only rules in the rulebook for allocating wounds require that once you start placing wounds on a model (at a given instance, or init step in assault) you have to keep placing them on the same model until it's dead.
