This is a post from a friend on our gaming facebook page...want to see what you guys think

Hey all, I was Tank shocked in my last game tonight by a skimmer, and it landed on top of my unit .
The unit was pinned in a U shape by terrain and units and coudlnt go anywhere except toward the enemy board edge . Saying it was a timed game i didnt want to continue discussing it at the time. So they died :(

However , now looking at the book it just says " moved out of the way by the shortest distance , leaving 1" between them and the vehicle whils maintaining unit coherency and staying on the board" " Page 85 in the rulebook

If they fail a leadership test they are forbidden to go towards the enemy board edge i agree, but my guys were fearless , so all they had to do was move out from under the tank and stay 1 inch away, even if it takes them towards the enemy players board edge is that right?

Right. The unit just squeeks out/under the tank. Just like when a tank tank shocks through the middle of a unit and crosses them completely, the models they crossed stay where they were. It's an abstraction of those guys avoiding the tank. it's extremely tough to actually kill models with tank shock; by design.

Aside from from getting Trapped if you fail a moral test (which, being fearless, you were in no danger of). A tank shock can only kill models that end up underneath it at its final position, if they can't move maintaining coherency, etc. It sounds like you just removed the whole unit.
