So I'm looking into Daemons, and I have a question... (Not directly related to them, that's just why I thought of this.)
You can only keep half your army in reserve... If I take a fortification, does that count towards this count?
So, if I had 3 squads of plague bearers and a quad gun Aegis line, could I put one squad to man the line and leave the other two squads in reserve?

Fortifications aren't units. So no, they don't count.

They're not even deployed like units. They're set up like other terrain (though occasionally tournaments alter how/when they're placed to accommodate pre-set terrain, for speed/convenience).
