I think it would be nice to make the waagh a little bit more special next dex. When the massive amount of psychic energy is released by the waaaagh!! the blessing of Fork and Mork would be unleashed. This would cause all things that use orky random mechanics (ie loota shots, zap gun str, flash gots ap, ect) to work at max effectiveness.
I also have an idea forming about rolling a d6 and on a 1-3 it invokes Gork and 4-6 invokes Mork with different effects but nothing solid so far.

That second one is what I immediately thought when I saw your thread title.
Randomly determine which god (1-2 Gork, 3-4 Mork, 5-6 Your choice) will influence the battle. Gork gives more choppiness, Mork gives special shenanigans.

I like giving orks WS-3 (they are kind of just big brutes) and base STR-4
On the WAAAGH they gain furious charge for that turn OR double the shots of assault weapons if they don't want to assault.
So they get really pumped and fire a bunch or get crazy strong for a turn.

I'd like the ork's to gain something akin to hammerhand from grey knight's, where as long as there are lot's of orks, they can channel their energies to go into a frenzy and gain strength, rather than furious charge. And as they lose boy's, they lose leadership, making it harder and harder to "cast" it.
I'd also like warphead's to become proper psykers, and to have some correlation between the warphead's power, and how many orks you have.

The only time I'd ever take the S5 over double shots is against armour 11 vehicles. It's not a very valid option tbh. Certainly agree that some shooty benefit is needed for WAAAGH since this is "shooty edition" 40k.
What about;
During the WAAAGH, all Ork assault weapons become Twin-Linked. However, any weapon that fires with this effect must pass an INT check next turn or be unable to shoot (we'z outta ammo boyz! Got ta reload!)

Initiative? That'd screw over orks who have I2. Besides, how would initiative effect guns?

Reloading the weapon.
And let it, give people a reason *not* to use the WAAAGH as well as *to* use it.

Reloading the gun is already assumed to be part of the shooting process. It's one of the reasonds why heavy weapons can't move and fire: it takes to long to reload.
Besides, this isn't just a slight penalty. You're making the WAAAGH! completely worthless except on the last turn, because losing a full turn of shooting is never worth giving some guns twin linked.

Blessing of fork?
So the Orks venerate a supremely powerful utensil? :p
