A Cryptek is leading a Squad and everyone is dead but him. Do I get a reanimation role for the warriors?

Nope. The rules for Reanimation protocols are very clear on this. You do however get to roll for Everliving for the Cryptek itself if/when it dies in a similar scenario.

Isn't he a squad leader for all purposes and a scoring model himself now?

Question 1 is at least Yes, but it doesn't matter. Read the last paragraph of Reanimation Protocols again. It's very, very, clear.

As for the Ghost Ark, it looks like a yes. I didn't spot anything in a quick skim of the FAQ either way. Maybe someone more familiar with previous threads on that subject can weigh in.

the cryptex is an independant character and so doesnt count towards that rule unfortunatly. had a competitor try that one on me. rules marshal disallowed it.

A cryptek isn't an Independent Character. He's only a normal Character. There are big differences. Although not as far as Reanimation Protocols is concerned.

Totally incorrect. A little cryptek is NOT an ic,, just a character, and once joined to a unit is a member of that unit and becomes scoring if attached to eg warriors

As above he doesn't allow rp roles to be made, explicitly covered in the el / rp rules, but a ghost ark can add warriors to him.

oh thats how the rules marshal described it as. possibly just trying to make it simpler for a common guardsman to understand

A lot of people are under the assumption that any character is an IC. It's obviously incorrect, but I've had people assure me that Mephiston can join units.

Yeah I actually won a game on Tuesday by one point because my warrior squad was wiped out but the cryptek got back up denying the victory point to my opponent.

Makes me sad about 2/3 of the time.

Use Res orbs. Especially for those full-sized squads of warriors. +1 to reanimation protocols is 'more' than worth paying what amounts to 1-2 points extra per model.
