I will be playing a small apoc game (10,000 pts) against two friends. One of which uses Typhus, now I realize in an apoc game there are a lot of other potentially more important targets but I've never dealt with a special character before and would like to know the best/easiest/simplest way to take him off the table.

OK

You've never played against a special character before and you're playing a 10,000 point game??

Anyways, kill him just like you would any terminator, except he has 4 wounds. Your game is so big that there really are no characters that would cause issues in the grand scheme.

Pretty much lol we just thought it'd be fun, till now I've never bothered with characters (Now I have three).

So plasma him to death? Got it.

As stated above, especailly for a newer player that's going to be a massive lenghy game. I'm not sure what you'll be bring to the field but the easiest bet will be whirlwind sniping him. Since he is SnP they'll probably throw him with a 35 man zombie blob and its an easy day from there if you can just pick him out.

That is going to be a long game.

High strength AP2 barrages work really well. ID weapons work great on him. Strip away the zombies and plasma him to death. Or just ignore him as he is slow and purposeful and so will take all game to get anywhere.

I squished him with some hammernators last night.

Where exactly are all of you getting Typhus being S/P? If you think its from the Mark of Nurgle thats not correct, only Daemon Princes with the Mark of Nurgle gain S/P to their profile. Otherwise at least in the 6th edition codex I own S/P isn't listed as part of his special rules. If he joins a squad of Zombie cultists then sure but if he is with a regular plague marine squad or cultist squad with the mark of nurgle or space marine squad with the mark he won't be S/P. Unless I got a miss-typed codex or something along those lines. If you are listing it because of the terminator armor all it states is the model in termie armor can't make a sweeping advance, otherwise according to the 6th ed codex I have he can still run like any other model out there. Am I missing something else entirely?

I had arjac chuck his hammer at him just before an assault at the beginning of a game a month ago. Hits on 2's and wounds on 2's. He failed his 5++ and was ID'd cuz S10. In other words, hope you get lucky with some s10 ap2/1 if you feel he is that crucial to kill in a 10,000pt apoc game lol

Anything S10 AP2. Hes not really that hard to kill or even that terrifying to go into CC with. Hit him with a Str D gun if youre really that scared.

I'd just ignore him and focus on bringing down units with lots of long-ranged fire power. Sorry that my advice circumvents the topic, but Typhus is just a T5 terminator. In a 10,000 point game he will have no impact of the battle

they are right about him having no impact on 10k. That battle will also probably take all day if not 2 even with four people.

Also, I got S/P because of units I would put him in. I can't think of any reason at all to leave him in the open. thats like asking him to be taken down.
