I'm going to be running a lvl 1, sometimes 2 mastery librarian on a bike with 5 man ravenwing command squad.

So a few of questions.

1) Which force weapon should I use and why?
2) For the times when I run the libby as a lvl1, is divination the only tree I should even think about rolling on? Prescience for my squadren of 3 landspeeders or terminators would always be usefull
3) For the times I choose lvl 2 mastery, which trees should I roll on?

Thanks for any help, if you need to know the rest of my list

I'm a fan of the telepathy tree. But it's up to what you want the libby to do. If you want him to be a in yourface cc monster id do 2 biomancy powers and give him power lance and power axe but then biomancy doesn't boost up the rest of the squad so you have to watch out for challenges sucking away that hard first turn lance hit.

For trees and DA you dont really have much choice, I run my libby on bike with a force axe but usually have a power field gen to make him survive higher intatives

DA cant get biomancy. I guess his role can be buffing units or de-buffing enemies since I dont want his unit to be in combat with anything scary.

Divination seems good, only 6 is useless.
Telepathy could be pretty amazing, shame two of the best powers require two warp charges tho.

thats super lame about the biomancy. I just got a DA force so I'm looking forward to checking out the options once I get back to the states.

That is the sad truth about telepathy. maybe divination is the best bet just have to make sure the other bikes are ready to spit out some damage to make it worthwhile.

My Chaos Sorcerer would gladly trade you Biomancy for Divination, but I guess the grass is always greener right?

Telepathy is a really good tree regardless of mastery level. At level you have a good chance at puppet master or horrify because you cannot get the level 2 powers. If your level 2 you can get invisibility or hallucnation. You really don't need prescience because so muchbof your army is twinlinked already (command squad, termies on the drop, razors..) I like the list. Looks like fun.

Wow really?? I did not know that, I thought that if you a rolled a 2 warp charge power you had to take it and could only use it every two turns (if you are level mastery one).

I get what your saying bout prescience but the landspeeders would be truly murderous with it, they could even form a semi-decent (very semi ) anti air for a turn. I am definatly going to roll on telepathy in my next game and see how it goes. By the way if you puppet master some devs would the unit the libby is joined to have to shoot the devs aswell?

Thanks man.

Divination. You always take Divination. All of the powers are good. Ignore Cover? 4+ Invulnerable Save? Put reroll hits on those speeders (and that's the primaris, so you'll always get it!)

For the Force Weapon, a Staff is probably your best TAC option, but if you face mostly marines, Swords are fine. Axes are another decent option, since you are T5 now, you don't have to worry about ID from anything short of Lysander with a TH or some other things I can't think of with S10.

You don't keep Warp Charge after each turn (so if you're ML1 you only get 1 warp charge every turn). Also, in the rulebook, it states that you get to reroll Warp Charge 2 powers if you're ML1.

Interesting list, never tried Triplewing before but it's generally sound. I'd drop the Darkshroud to get the Standard of Fortitude on the RWCS because a 5+FNP bubble on your terminators is far better than +1 to cover, and DS is a waste on land speeders.

In this list your Ravenwing will be up front, so I'd roll telepathy. Invisibility, Hallucination, and Terrify win games. Shriek is an okay primaris and the rest of your army really doesn't hugely benefit from prescience (other than the DWT, but they're twin linked the turn they come down anyway.) There's a bad roll on each psychic discipline, but Telepathy is a game changer compared to Divination- and the Librarian has the mobility to utilise it.

I generally run Force Staff, because it's better against everything except Terminators (who die anyway against RWCS and you have plenty of power fists. Against MEQ, wounding on a 2+ is just as good as Ap3, and chances are you'll be fighting things which have an invuln anyway. It's also handy for IDing high T things like Tervigons, DPs et al. Consider the 5 point Champion upgrade to get a chump challenger to soak difficult targets and get precision shots.

Sword is a bad compromise between the two.

It's not so bad, you can always use your force weapon in their turn as you generate a warp charge in their turn that goes unused.

They already have twin-linked plasmaguns. Telepathy is better for bikes... Divination is better for gunline DA.

The warp charge you generate fades away each turn. You never have more warp charges than your mastery level.

Divination is always useful, but Telepathy is just as good, if not better on bikes.
