Subject: Toronto Mayor Rob Ford in 'crack cocaine' video scandal
For those not in the know, Rob Ford has been at the center of a lot of scandals. Recently he ran out in the middle of a community meeting to plaster all the cars in the parking lot with magnets, a dangerously insane human being.
Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

While Ford likes to insert foot-in-mouth and make life difficult for himself, The Star is notorious for going out of it's way to try and slander him every possible chance they get because he's a conservative...
If you think Ford is laughable, try Adam Vaughn for 'clown of the year'.
I mean, this is the guy who literally couldn't wait to run in front of the cameras after the Eaton Center shooting to blast the Feds for scrapping the Long Gun Registry and that to cure gun violence within Toronto the city should ban the sale of all bullets within city limits!
(because obviously, hand guns are just too easily concealed within pockets, whereas a long gun makes a statement! And every good gangbanger is conscious enough to go and legally purchase their ammo with their non-existent licence for their illegal hand gun...)

How did the toronto star rope the editor of gawker into this then?
While I sincerely hope they make their goal, I think Gawker should be willing to at least match the donation amount out of their own coffers, considering the volume of ad revenue the video will bring in.

Please, sure Ford is an uncouth brute, but he at least respects tax-payers money unlike the Millerites who nearly bankrupted Toronto, and his so-called crimes & conflicts of interest absolutely pale in comparison to the current provincial Fiberals...
The 2 gas-plant cancellations are already at 580+ million dollars... and still counting... (but the new Premier, who isn't actually elected except by her own party, "is sorry")
All to buy a pair of seats in the provincial legislature. (and that's still not counting the billions wasted on E-Health, Orng Air Ambulance, The Green Energy plan, those useless & hazardous to your health windfarms, caving to every single big union in the province in order to buy their votes, proroguing the legislature because the teachers unions threw a temper tantrum, a 12+ billion dollar budget deficit...)
I still say the real criminals are holed up at Queen's Park, and they somehow inexplicably still have jobs?! (the real nightmare continues )
Ford & Toronto City council are simply a comedic side-show to the real clowns in office.

And so you think that being the lesser of two evils makes it not evil? What exactly is your argument?

My argument is that sure, Ford does stupid crap.
But you only see him being lambasted and constantly dragged through the mud by the media, while the much bigger goof-balls & criminals who've run our entire province into financial ruin have yet to face even a fraction of the hate Ford gets.

I'm sorry but if Dalton McGuinty was smoking crack in a video I'd want to see that video too. How does the ontario liberals being idiotic have anything to do with Rob Ford being a trainwreck?

Ford tends to just make an idiot of himself. Okay, he might also make Toronto look bad, but then, so did calling in the army to shovel a little snow, not to mention the Make-ya-Laughs who are the laughing stock of the NHL and just set a new record for the most epic collapse of all time!
The Fiberals on the other hand have bled the entire province dry and we're still stuck with them.
Between Ford vs the Libs, I'll gladely take Ford and his antics any day. At least his foolishness and potential self-destruction isn't costing us all umpteen billion dollars a year!

But Ford is municipal and Libs are Provincinal. This isn't a lesser of two evils. This is one set of self serving corrupt liars gaming a self serving corrupt system of lies, vs a crack smoking trainwreck.
All this really shows is that drugs are everywhere. Just legalise them already, and divert the massive, massive war on drugs money into treatment and healthcare for those who can't handle their use.
We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

Right. So agian, what exactly is your argument? Because you have yet to explain it. You appear to be circling the idea that Ford should not be focused on because other people also do other stupid gak, which seems like a really stupid argument.

When I first heard of this guy, it reminded me of the Mayor of Washington D.C. also caught smoking crack. He was re-elected by a wide margin in the next election after he was busted.

That'd be Marion Barry, and his re-election campaign slogan was "He May Not Be Perfect, But He's Perfect for D.C", which might just have been the greatest campaign slogan in the history of politics, considering the context.
