When should I think about getting a stompa.

I saw the stats for one of these guys and it looked epic, the model is really nice too. I don't want to get it too soon though as it might be a waste for a while. My orks are about 1500 points. What points should my army be before I got one. Also how should I use the stompa.

You can only use them in agreed 'apocalypse' games.

So, I'd aim to get one around 4-5 thousand point in, so you have a sizable army with choices for regular 40k games.

I have above 7k points of orks.. And...i got no stompah yet :/ i should really get one this year... guess imma wait and see the new apo book that comes this year.

I wouldn't waste my time. Mine just sits in a monster figure case and really sees little use :-)

If you like the model you should get it. Modelling is a huge part of the hobby. But at 1500 points you would be better served with increasing your base army size.

Well seeing as Apocalypse games are typically 2500+. I'd suggest +500 more base orks.

When should you buy a stompa? When you have regular opponents who play apoc and a large enough army to play apoc.

I only have the one at present.

In regular 40K games it still sees use as either an Orky Bastion
or as a terrain piece (especially since one of my favourite lists is mek-heavy.). Makes for great themed games where the opponent has to destroy the partially completed Stompa and/or iit's factory.

Buy what you want. I picked up a used Stompa to convert and tinker with because i liked the model.
