Has anyone notice this?

Last year, at the end:

CSM, then a month later WoC.

March: Daemons and Daemons

Now: High Elves and Eldar

It seems like they are trying to release the 'equivalent' of a 40k race in Fantasy by coordinating it.

Good point. Closest fit would be Bretonnians (assuming Empire matches up to Imperial Guard) and they ARE long overdue an update...

Maybe we're finally getting that Brettonian book.

Eldar and Bretonnia would be fantastic.

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Outside of the Chaos releases, there's nothing to really see here...

All rumors point to the following books lining up in the release line;
- Eldar
- Lizardmen
- Space Marines
- Dark Elves

So yeah, mainly just coincidence that High Elves/Eldar kinda happened, beyond that it's pretty much just GW lining up what they think will sell well as well as a little bit balancing added to the mix. (ie: Lizzies need to lose Cupped Balls of the Old Ones + other Slaan shinanigans, while the dreaded Pendant Lord of Doom needs the boot)

What I'm honestly more interested in myself though, is if the rumors are true that Ward is writing the new Eldar, what super item is he going to give them that f***s-over Daemons for the 3rd time in a row and makes them unplayable again!

SKAVEN!

But seriously, Lizardmen, Brets, and Wood Elves deserve updates.

No, if you're really trying to pair-up the armies between Fantasy/40k, then IG are very much like The Empire. Lots of really individually crappy units that rely on synergy between multiple units & their character supporters, with a couple really heavy hitters tossed in.

Skaven are very much like the Hrud.
