Hello,

My name is Aaron. A company I work with, Pod 6, has a free squad builder app on iOS called Ops - Infinity Edition. We're about to put out an update and we'd love to get feedback from Infinity players.

You can download it directly from the app store here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ops-infinity-edition/id640441223?mt=8

Please give it a look. If you have feedback leave it here or on the Pod6 forums: http://podvi.net/opsinfinity.htm

Does it have the ability to make lists for sectorials? I cant seem to find MRRF or CHA.

I also cannot find Brigidier Jaques Bruant for the MRRF

Downloading it now. Hopefully it's faster than Aleph Toolbox. While I like it, it's horribly unresponsive.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Okay, I played around with it. First impression - slick. This is one professional feeling app. Slick interface obviously designed for a touchscreen, super responsive, looks fantastic. I put together my 200pt Haqqislam list in about 30 seconds. This is one nice app, and I wouldn't hesitate to pay for it either.

However, there's a few gripes I do have with it - and considering you're asking for suggestions, here we go (I don't really want to go register on another forum).

Sectorials. I couldn't figure out how to make a sectorial list, and considering the simplicity of the app, I'm thinking it's not in there yet. Or I'm just missing some 'hold/swipe to enable' option somewhere.

Navigation. When you are selecting units to add, there's some areas the app could be better.

When you tap a unit for info, then go back, it takes you right back to the Insignia selection screen. Add functionality to bring you back to that units expanded list, so you don't have to go hunt for the insignia again.

When you go back to the Insignia selection screen, it seems rather random where it leaves you. Change is to is leaves you with your previously selected unit in the middle of the screen. That way if you mistakenly when back to that screen, it's easy to just tap and go back into it.

Army list view/analysis.

When you're finished with your list, have a button to give you a smaller, generalised 'list view', just showing the names and points/ava/swc values, plus an analysis of how many points you've spent in each area and how much you have left for 100/150/200/250/300pts levels.

Overall, it's a fantastic little app. But those, for me, would make it something I'd drop some money on, especially if unit stat updates are timely.

Hey,

Thank you both for your replies.

Sectorial armies are not in yet. We want to get the basic army creation in a really good state first. I expect sectorial support in the next couple of months.

Paradiso units (like Jacques Bruant) were not all in the first release. They will be in the next release which we just submitted to Apple for review. Expect that out in a about a week.

Thanks for your feedback on navigation and list views. That's definitely an area where an outside view really helps. The app makes sense to us because we made it, but if there are parts that don't make sense to everyone else we need to work on that.

Thanks so much to both of you for taking the time to check it out. Feedback really does help us decide what to work on first.

Lay out is pretty good. It is definately a lot smoother than Aleph Toolbox on my iPhone4, a lot more responsive too. However it is not so usefull to me at the moment as there are no sectorial lists yet. My group are also playing through Campaign Paradiso so the lack of those units will be a downside as well, hope they get added quickly.

Maybe intergrate point caps like 100/150/200 etc as Loki suggested, this makes it easier to see what you have left to spend. A compressed list would also be very handy. Does it have the ability to export lists? One of the main downsides of Aleph Toolbox is that you cannot export to PDF on iPad or iPhone. If you could add that functionality it would be a winner (with sectorials of course ). The way each piece of equipment and skills link to the wiki, VERY good idea!!

Biggest downside for me at the moment (appart from lack of sectorials) is that you have to scroll through all the units. Aleph Toolbox has all the icons at the top which enables quick selecting of the desired unit rather than scrolling through them all. Still it is a great start.

I will dwld it onto my iPad tonight and have a play around with it on there as well. I will let you know how it goes.

I prefer this to Aleph Toolbox. That only shows you the insignias per unit - I usually forget each insignia, especially when I'm looking through an army I don't collect for potentially starting them.

With this, the insignia has the name next to it, so quickly swiping through them for the unit I want is far quicker. Add to that the general slowness and unresponsivness of toolbox, and this is much better for me.

You may have a point there, at the moment all I collect is Ariadna and I'm just getting into QK but so far for me this has not been a problem. I know all the Ariadna insignias now :p

I browse through the Haqqislam insignias on toolbox regularly, and I still end up lost when looking for stuff I don't look for often. So I just end up pressing the icons until I hit the unit I'm after.

Again, with the unresponsiveness of it, it's not exactly a speedy process looking for a unit you've never fielded by just its insignia.

Thanks for all the feedback, folks!

Wow, we really underestimated the importance of sectorials for people. Nobody in our local meta uses them. We'll definitely be prioritizing these.

Basic sharing and Paradiso units will be in the next release due out in a week. Sharing will be in a very basic form at first, so bear with us while we get it fully fleshed out. We figured Paradiso units were important enough we didn't want to delay while we worked on more ways to export.

Android, I'm sorry to say, is a ways off. We definitely want to get to it but we want to make Ops as good as possible first. For the way we work currently it would just add a lot of time to support multiple operating systems. Once we've got it working well on iOS it will be a good time to start expanding to other device types.

Thanks so much to everyone who tried it out and thanks for all the feedback. You guys are great!

Downloaded the update, Jacques has now taken his rightful place in my list.

Have you though about a notification if the list is illegal in some way? eg: no LT, ava breach etc

Go Jacques!

List verification is planned. Right now we are looking for feedback from people comfortable with the rules who probably don't need that info as much. We definitely want to get it in eventually to help new Infinity players.

I've been playing around with it and so far I rather like it. The only thing really missing for me is the support for sectorial armies. One other thing I would like to suggest is a way to exclude mercs from faction lists. Simply because they are not usable in ITS play. Otherwise I really like the ways to sort through the troops via type, wounds, and so on. Very nice army creator though. I look forward to what more you all add to it. It has become my choice for Iphone at the moment unless I'm doing a sectorial list. Well done guys and keep up the good work

Glad you are finding Ops useful. Sectorial armies are first on our list. Good suggestion to have an option to hide mercs. We'll look into that.

I just though of another feature that I would like to see. It really is not needed or anything just something I'd like personally. But some kind of way to keep track of what models you already own. You know some sort of collection kind of thing. It would be useful for me only because I'm always forgetting what I already have for each faction. Like I said not really needed but something that would be cool if do-able.

That's definitely doable. iBodger for warmachine had this feature. It's some we will want to look at, but only after sectorials and other important parts have gone in.

Ya I wouldn't put it high up on the list nor would I demand this feature anytime soon. But if it could be put in that would be pretty sweet. Also it would be the first to have it for Infinity to my knowledge.
