I'm new and out of 7 games I've gotten steamrolled every time... How can I fix my list or tactics to win? I generally storm in with speed freaks and send biker nobs or deff koptas on flanking attempts. So far I haven't had to worry about flyers

X1 Ghazzy
X2 Battkewagons /w 19 shoota boys and nob /w PK and boss pole
X1 battlewagon /w 17 sluggas /w nob /w PK and boss pole (ghaz in here)
X10 lootas
X3 deff koptas
X1 dakka jet
X6 biker nobs with a warboss and pain boy (4 nobs /w 2 PK and 2 big axes, 1warboss /w squig and PK, pain boy that gives all cybork)

I've also tried running kff instead of ghaz, with one less bw (but adding 10 boyz to that squad) and another 4 lootas... but no luck. I have played a lot of players and armies including chaos, tyranids, eldar, and blood angels.

2 BW's with Bikes seems like an interesting combo. Are you finding your BW's being destroyed before getting into combat?

Alright man first off your on the right track with the style of list your running. A few changes and I think you would be golden.

Ghazzy is doing mnothing for this list. Drop him and replace him with a KFF mek to give your wagons some protection. With the remaining points, get 10 more lootas. Bare in mind, lootas are amazing behind an aegis defense line... At the end of the day if you can find 50 points... I would def invest in one. Going to ground for a 2+ is awesome.

I don't see the koptas doing anything for you... I would drop them and grab another dakka jet. Dakka jets do amazing things in pairs, but are a little lack luster if your only running one. Now the other option is to drop the dakka jet and the koptas and get yet another 10 lootas and your aegis line. That would give you 30 lootas which will do amazing things for you... Including bringing down flyers with ease.

If your looking to shave points, I would actually take the nobz out of your shoots squads... You make them up with the bikers and their just not needed IMO.

QFT ~ with the nerfs to close combat, we're just not good enough at it anymore to warrent making a choppy list.

Your list needs more heavy shooty ~ Kannons/Lobbas (don't knock them till you try them!), Grot Bomm Launchas, Supa-Kannon Trakks or Looted Wagons are good options.

Awesome thanks for feedback guys. So sounds like avoid traditional ork strat of charging forward and throw bullets instead? Generally yes my battlewagons arnt even getting to the forward line, let along getting opportunity to tank shock. Do I NEED biker Nobz or some kind of deathstar, or just go shooty all the way?

Charging forward doesn't work man. Don't credit that to any tactical depth in the game system, its more just that shooting is so powerful.

No you don't need Biker Nobs or a deathstar.

What you do need to do is to harass and disrupt the enermy while you charge. Put worthless stuff in the way of their shooting, they have to waste shots on it or shoot past it which gives you a 4+ save ~ like a vehicular version of Gretchin!

So are battle wagons and boyz usefull still? If so how? Biker nobz in front of wagons to soak up hits?
