I just stumbled on something interesting for Chaos Daemons. Loci seem to effect the whole unit that a herald is in. So if you put a herald on an Exalted Seeker chariot can you have it join with a Seeker Cavalcade? If so, then the herald would be giving all the other chariots the benefit of the loci and since the loci of Slaanesh are so useful this could be quite a powerful combo. Just the lesser locus of grace giving the Move Through Cover rule really helps a cavalcade get across the board. You could also have the exalted locus of beguilement allowing you to reroll all hits across the cavalcade. This would be awesome if you could do it, but I'm not sure if a character on a chariot can join a squadron of other chariots. It doesn't seem to say anything about it in the rulebook under chariots or characters.

It seems like you should be able to, I mean its the exact same type of chariot, but I am not sure. What do you guys think?

I think the rules explicitly disallow an IC to join a vehicle squadron.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

If the Herald is embarked in a Chariot, then he is a passenger. The Chariot is not an IC, so it can't join another unit. So there is no way to get a Herald into a unit of Chariots.

As above. Page 39 covers this explicitly, and with no ambiguity

The rules for transports also disallow this as the whole unit must be embarked in order for a transport to be used. pg 78.

ADD causes my posts to ramble from time to time. Please bear with me.

darn, that would have been fun. I get the rule, but at the same time, fluff wise, it seems like it should work. Oh well.
