Simple question I hope.
Necron Abyssal Staff is a S8 Template weapon that is compared to the targets leadership instead of toughness when rolling to wound.
If it causes an unsaved wound on a T4 creature would it count as an instant kill or would the double toughness clause be applied to leadership in this case?

Q: When using an abyssal staff, do you use the target’s Toughness or
Leadership for the purposes of working out if Instant Death applies?
(p84)
A: You use the target’s Leadership.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Given that equivalents to this rules issue have been floating around since mid-third edition, and every single one sooner or later gets FAQ'd to the same answer, why hasn't this been made into a general rule or at least inserted into new versions of the same effect? Usually they get tired of writing the same FAQ entries over and over again.

hehe, no need to qualify. "Clarity" has never been GW's strong point to begin with, let alone correcting ambiguous rules.
