I recently bought the sm battle force to just add some points for my army. When I was looking at all the sprues, I noticed that instead of having a combat squad sprue, it was an assault marine sprue, the one with the torso's regular backpacks and legs, (not the jump packs and it did not come with extra jump packs). I intended to make the combat squad sternguard vets but it took me a couple days to finally decide what I should do. So I decided that I was going to pose the vets on the legs given to me, so they look like they are running, and I modeled their arms so that in one hand they are holding their bolters and in the other hand their bolt pistol. I'll post pics later.

I also wanted to know has this happened to anyone else who bought the sm battle force

I didn't get the sm battleforce but a similar thing happened when I got the dark eldar megaforce. It was supposed to come with a venom, a raider, and a ravager (plus a ton of other stuff). But instead of the venom sprue I received an extra raider sprue. But i thought to myself this might work to my advantage. So I called gw up and told them I was missing a venom sprue and the ravager upgrade sprue. They didn't ask any questions and sent them straight my way. So basically ended with a ravager for free.

Not WH40k, but I had a similar thing happen to a Wood Elf Battalion kit I got.

It came with no archers. All the archer frames were replaced by glade rider frames. But no extra horses.

I took it to the GW where I bought it, showed the guy, explained. It took him a few moments to figure out what was wrong with it, and shortly after, I walked away with the misfit Battalion kit and two boxes of Glade Guard archers.

My local GW's great at that kind of stuff. ^^

You could always phone GW and tell them. Something the size of a Battleforce, they'll probably just send you the correct sprue that was missing.

You shouldn't have to 'fix' any problem with something you buy.

Ya I'm not that mad though I kinda liked that I had to fix it myself, it made my brain work and I have custom looking vets. But I think I might give GW a ring

Yes call GW and let them know...for that kind of money you should always get what you pay for. I do like your idea for running sternguard sounds cool.

Nice , when my heavy weapon teams came without the tripods and the plate in front , the store clerk told me to deal with it .

For all the flack people give GW, whenever I've had a problem, they sorted it out quick and easy.

It's always fun to mix and match marine bits to get unique looking units. On of the perks of the army is that so many of the sprues are compatible.

That's the kind of stuff that makes me mad because you paid for a model and you didn't get it, you got part of it. The store clerk has to provide you with what you purchased otherwise that is false advertising, they show you the fully built model and tell you that this kit has all the parts needed to make the model but they don't provide all the pieces. Normally its no problem if you just let them know and they correct their mistakebut if they tell you to just deal with it then we have a problem

I remember years ago, back in fourth I believe, when I bought the space marine battle force with the command squad and razor back. At the same time, I bought my brother the chaos one with the KB and bikes.

My kit was missing parts from the razorback turret, and my brother's kit was missing a wheel for one of the bikes.

I sent GW an email. Within a short period of time, I don't remember how long, but I remember thinking "wow that was fast!", they sent me a new sprue for the missing part, a brand new razor back in the box, a wheel for my brothers bike, and a whole new chaos biker in the box. They also expressed what I believe to be a sincere apology.

I also bought a terminator assault squad back in 5th, one of the thunder hammers was broken. I brought it into my local GW, even though I bought the kit at my local FLGS. They ordered and gave me at no extra cost a set of 5 TH/SS.

Now I'm sure not everyone has had the same positive experiences I have. But for all the things GW does wrong, I've always found they do customer service right. At least that's my experience. YMMV

Ill echo the sentiment of others that gw fixes problems very quickly and without much hassle...I once made the mistake of purchasing their glue, I called them and told them that it ruined a bunch of my models and caused endless extra work for me...they sent me two free bottles of glue and asked if I had any specific models that were damaged, basically begging me to ask for free stuff.

I panicked and told the truth that all I had was a messed up Castellan Crowe.

I remember the wonderful day I received my first ever Mail Order. Six of the original plastic 2nd ed Ork bikes. Nom. Except one was missing the biker's head off the sprue.

So I rang up Mail Order. Listened, apologised, said they'd sort it.

Few days later SIX WHOLE BIKE SPRUES ARRIVED FREE!! I was over the moon!
