So there they were, my Deathwing Knights and their Libby protector riding along safely in their Land Raider Crusader, thinking they were invulnerable when they found themselves out on the street thanks to a lucky melta shot. Now, the LRC rolled and failed it's PFG save. Question is, do the DWK's inside get an invul save from the Explodes! wound rolls?

If i remember from the FAQ:
Page 64 – Power Field Generator
Add “If the bearer is embarked upon a Transport vehicle, the
power field’s effects only apply to models embarked upon that
vehicle”.

yeah they made it crap. PFG doesn't protect what they are riding in, but if you have the libby stand outside and chase after the LRC its protected.

Why wouldn't you use the 2+ armor save the models have?

Yes they would get the Power Field save when the vehicle exploded, but your 2+ armor is better versus the non-AP explosion damage.

Duh.

But I did still manage to learn something from this thread. I knew the PFG got nerfed, but I just thought that meant it didn't project from one LRC to other LRC's or something. I didn't initially read that as only the squad riding in it. Ugh. What am I going to do with all those Librarian models from DV?

Attach them to a plasma command squad in a DP.
