Subject: New Player: Proxy for Repurposed Units?

Hello all! First post on Dakka!
I have been wanting to get into miniature wargaming for a long time now. About a week ago, I discovered Infinity, and realized that the box of Halo Actionclix figures under my bed were 28mm! I've been building terrain and re-basing the figures for a little while, mostly because I've been avoiding my biggest problem: I have no idea how to give units stats.
Because I haven't actually played much Infinity, I am not very well versed in stats. I tried to convert the applicable stats from the Actionclix system, but Spartans end up moving as fast as motorcycles, and wounds are the only other thing that *kind of* transfers. Could someone help me out here? I have weapons proxied pretty well, and equipment shouldn't be too hard, so all I need is for someone to point me to units that serve a similar function to units in Halo. Thanks in advance!

PanO are pretty high tech, just say they are ORC Soldiers or fusiliers etc. Shouldn't be too hard or a stretch of the imagination. Hopefull you don't come up against someone that doesn't like proxies

Yeah, make sure your base size can easily be identified as 25mm somewhere on there, otherwise template weapons could be a problem for you.
If someone has a problem with proxies, tell them you want to make sure you like the game before you commit financially. If they can't gather an iota of pathos for that in this economy...

A problem with proxies in Infinity is that you're very often taking several models with varying weaponry and statlines and moving them between one another in close proximity.
Another problem lies in that there is a lot of hidden information in the game and proxies only muddle that further.
So long as you can provide a clear distinction of what is what, it's fine. I agree with Nerm86 that the Master Chiefs could be decent proxies for most Heavy Infantry models in the game. Heavy Infantry model statlines tend to be slow yet resilient like Master Chief. Just make sure that the model is on a 25mm (1in) base.

Thanks for the responses guys! One of the main problems with trying to use Spartans/the Master Chief as HI/ TAG is that about 70% of the figures are Spartans But luckily for me, they have a variety of weapons, so I'll differtiate them with that. Plus, anyone that I would be playing with knows Halo well enough to easily recognize the type of weapon on sight.
The bases they come with are too large, about an inch and a quarter in diameter. But I have been re-basing them, an once I get a few more done I'll upload some pictures and army lists.

It's not hard to rebase clix figures (of any kind).
I found clippers to be handy in removing them from their clix bases (just enough pressure at the join will pop the glue bonds - without needing to use the clippers to actually cut them off with them).
