Greetings all,

I'm going to Kublacon in the bay area this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

I've never been there, and a forum on the website similar to, for example, Gencon does not exist.

Thus, we are flying blind. I'm staying at the hotel linked on the website right by the airport, but a few questions:

a.) What kind of Food is Nearby?
B.) what kind of eats are on site?
C.) how is the hotel stay from your experience?
D.) are there any groups attending that sponsor evening events, etc outside the Con that you highly recommend?

also, more related to Kubla itself,

do the personally - inspired demos and the general air of pick-up games tend to die down immensely in the evening, or is this a "raging 24-7" like Origins, Gencon, etc?
also, is the crowd eclectic in interests and eccentric get-ups ? should be pack extra batteries for a whole batch of outrageous costumes and the like? or is it more "get to the table and play" type participants?
Lastly, plain and simple, did you have a good time? any regrets?

thanx in advance for any advice

~ Shrap

B. Hotel has restaurant, sports bar and light food cafe. Hotel kitchen does a very small buffet (pizza slices, sandwiches, etc. near the lobby.

C Hotel is fine. Parking is not cheap.

D Not that I know of. Nothing like Gencon. Everything is at the hotel.

Open gaming dies off around midnight...

Not much in the way of costumes. More "get to the table and play" type participants.
