Well, what we have here is a case of "Making a Mona Lisa from Cow-Crap"

Mantic's models are some of the ugliest and worst on the Market, but you have done an amazing paintjob on them all!

I would love if you could share how you did the stone on that Gargoyle?

Zenithal black to light grey with an airbrush, very runny black wash into recesses and cracks. Brown wash glazes here and there. Highlight under edges with a sharp light grey. Stipple green for moss on the base, the lord himself got a few purplish glazes here and there to shift it to 'almost alive' tones.

Maybe you'll consider the question stupid but... what colours did you use for the bases? And from which manufacturer is the tufts/grass? I'm going to base a whole army for a middle eastern feel and I'd love to achieve exactly your results with the bases.

By the way, an amazing result with the minis, specially the mummies.

The tufts are GW 'middenland tufts'.
The bases are painted as follows:
Black undercoat.
Base with thinned 50-50 mix of VGC Heavy Sienna and VGC Heavy Brown. It's approximately 'Graveyard Earth'. The thin base lets the paint flow onto the sand rather than having to paint heavily near the models' feet.
Drybrush with Vallejo 'Panzer Aces' Light Mud. Pretty much Bleached Bone.
If doing any rock, drybrush those codex grey (or any mid-grey really) before the light mud drybrush.

Those mummies look awesome. Great painting of everything but the models themselves just appeal to me.

Those werewolves are very fleshy. Just this side of pornographic. Great job! Nice to see some dudely beefcake for once!

Great stuff all around.

These are really nice, vibrant colors, nice shading, great detail and I love your basework. Just ties it all together quite nicely.

Finally, as they've been unveiled:

I scratch built the helmet on this, as the prototypes were not cast in clear resin. Do not take it as 'final' or in any way as official for shape, it's just to get a feel for the bubble helmet.

Just how tall is that purple robot? It looks awesome. As do the evil martians.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

It's an Asterian Cypher. Umm, it's about 50mm tall to the top of it's 'spines' IIRC. Bigger than a standard DB player, but it is quite spindly. I really like the design. Armed versions are coming for Deadzone I think.

That head sculpt is awesome! Very well painted too. Although, I'm not sure I'm sold on the overall mini as a whole. Robot-Cthulu just isn't working for me. But, you've done all you can and it looks great. Metal work is nice and the yellow contrasts against the purple tones very well.

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

Man, those models are very well painted, great job.

A Heretic may see the truth and seek redemption. He may be forgiven his past and will be absolved in death. A Traitor can never be forgiven. A Traitor will never find peace in this world or the next. Ok, image spurt as pictures from elsewhere have surfaced:

One of the two mawbeasts I've done for Deadzone.

Probably my favourite of the marauder troopers; I just like the pose.

Not overly fond of the sergeant, but was fun enough to paint as part of the batch.

Now these I do like. His dancing compatriot will surface in good time I suppose. Lots of fun to paint.

These are a fair amount more work than you might imagine; many many surfaces that I regretted doing feathered blends on. The result I'm quite pleased with though. Not sure what the underslung weapon on his left arm is supposed to be - some sort of energy ram I supposed.

Vgc heavy blackgreen blended up through heavy green to heavy khaki. Touch of VMC burnt cadmium red around the mouth.
