Hi,
I'am trying to get back into my Blood Angels again (after thinking about chaos i remembered them). So I have come up with a rough list but I'am still 200ish points short of my 1750.

I wanted a mechanized/rush themed blood angles army.. do you think it will work?
What would you change/add?

priests go with assault marines. Reclusiarch goes with the Vanguard Vets. and the librarian dreadnought follows up behind.

What I would do here:
1) switch Vindicator for Predator or you'll blow up half of your marines with that large blast.

2) Vets are okay, but the only reason I would field them is Heroic Intervention. Expensive, but when used well, can be game-changing.

3) so now that Rec is without squad. What to do with him? Idea: replace one assault squad with 2 squads of 5. Give both meltas/flamers, PW. Both get Razorback with TL plas/las cannon. Rec goes with one and Corbulo with another.

Sound likes solid advice. I jut like the idea of vindicators.. also I own one but I dont own a predator currently.
i took the vets for more attacks and for some power weapons. I haven't tried them out yet as there still unpainted...

As for 5 man assaults I'am always a little worried that they will die too fast. And Razorbacks are probably a solid choice, i hadn't considered them.

Well I do understand the attraction of re-rolling hits on a squad full of PW's

And Vindi isn't auto-fail if you're careful enough.

It is also a thing with your taste if you decide to have 10 or 5 man squads. I've always liked the idea of flexibility that smaller squads give you. (+ multiple targets + more sgt's = more power weapons)

I'd go predator, your army has fast moving tanks use them!

And another advantage that smaller squads have: enemy firesupport at you, gets 8 wounds. It'll kill either 5 or 8 of your guys. Up to you.

And you could definetly use more heavy fire there so a TL plas cannon or two will become handy

this is true. its also why my assults each have a priest for fnp. Its hard to balance tho.

The counter argument in favor of 10 man squads is that when you cast buffs from divination, you are hitting twice as many guys.

Yea thats true, everything has its upsides and down sides. its just finding a balance.

Also, 5 man squads mean you are paying for more sergeants, who I feel are overcosted for a 1 W 3+ save model.

True Martel, true. So I guess it's just up to the OP. I've always liked smaller Assault squads, but I know that they have their disadvantages.

True, but if I make them into 5 mans, I can put them in a rhino but then feel like I'am not making the most out of the rhino.. its tricky i think

I use 5 man squads in a razor backs. Either TL HF razor and the squad has flamer/hand flamer, or Las/plas razor with melta and inferno pistol. But for jumpers, its always 10.
