Hello, What is the role of the grandmaster? Is he just there for the grand strategy (Unyielding Anvil is a personal favourite) and the trippy greneades? Of course he has got high WS and BS but is that a reason alone to take him?

He is also VERY expensive, even without any special equipment. If it weren't for the grand strategy I would go for a brother-captain instead.

Please share any advice on how to use him!

He is there as a carrier cost for Grand Strategy. He basicly allows you to spend less points on troops because you can make other units scoring. However since your paying the tax you might as well tool him up to be useful. A psycannon is really good for him although quite expensive. A sword is also a good option as it boosts his Invo in combat which is where he really shines.

When you start winning games just because you brought a base 175pt GM making Dreadknights and Interceptors scoring you'll start seeing how valuable that is and not wonder "Why do I bring this guy?"
