Alright guys ive played on 6th ed game of 40k, Im gonna get some necron models soon, and i need a decent list that will do well in games and low scale tournaments, i want to utilize the flyers as much as possible. i heard that tesla is the way to go and just take immortals with tesla weapons. any good ideas for a 2k or 2500 point list would be great!! Thanks all

Tesla is better than Gauss on Immortals in several common situations
-when shooting at MEQ or TEQ >12" away (Gauss is RF)
-shooting overwatch (average .5 hits per model vs .33 with Gauss)
-shooting before assaulting (Gauss is RF)

Gauss is better than Tesla on Immortals in several other common situations
-When shooting at MEQ or TEQ < 12" away
-When shooting at 4+ or 5+ models from any range (unless those models have a cover save)
-When shooting at any Vehicle AV 12 or greater

Take a look at your metagame. At 2k and 2.5k points level, I would go with Gauss due to the increased number of vehicles.

You can always milk the best of both worlds by taking Tesla Immortals and adding Storm-teks via a Royal Court These in a Night Scythe is silly fun

Foolishmortal is right on in terms of tesla.

How many points are you thinking. If you want to "get some necron models soon" I would recommend starting with the battle force box since it'll cover a transport and 3 scoring units (albeit only a 5-man squad on immortals).

After that, I would pick up an Annihilation Barge. So good for the price.

And since you mentioned the flyers, a night scythe or 2 will be needed as well.

Hard to recommend a full list without knowing what point range you're targeting.

I only use one flyer in 2k point games, I can see the benefits of having two or more of them but as skoffs pointed out more isn't always better.

I take 3 annihilation barges, 2 with gauss and 1 with tesla. Just to add some variety to the game.

I have played half a dozen games this year with only 5 tesla immortals and two game with a squad of 10....OMG these with a lord+res and a stormtek are just amazing (last game was against IG).

I'm just starting to get into gaming competitively so my lists are usually quite fluffy, I fall into the category of "wow new necron model....TAKE MY BANK CARD!" lol.

My two cents to this is get a des lord and put him with wraiths, there is an argument for putting whip coils on all of them but thats personal preference.

I'll post my builds later, but I have two of them at 2k points. One of them I use two flyers, one for my Death & Despair combo.. and one for my stormtek/gauss vehicle wrecking combo. I do also have a wraith wing build that uses four flyers. It could be three flyers for that build, but I have four scythes in total, and the one gets lonely, so I bring it too.

And yeah, Deathscythe and Stormscythe are two examples of acceptable Scythe usage. I have a TAC list which uses one of each, as well as a Doomscythe. Excellent redundancy, so it normally works pretty well.

In case of flyers i think 3-4 is enough I use 4 ns with 5 warriors in my 1850 wraithwing.

1-2 whip fully agreed. Deathscythes and stormscythes are also very effective. In my 1850 dearhmark list i use 3 deathscythes and 1 stormscythe. I personally dont like doomscythe, its quite expensive and its hard to use it with 45 arc of sight and 6thed wound alocation
