So I got this rouge trader era chaos marine as a gift last year. I am about to strip him but I don't play chaos and sorta at loss on what to paint him. Any ideas? I thought maybe word bearers, I thought this cuz I have 20 cultists and thought maybe a worker bearer could lead them to blasphemy. So if you had this mini what legion would you paint him?

I had careful think and I have to agree with you. Before I knew it was a Chaos Marine I was thinking "Blood Angel", a la 2nd Ed. rulebook Rogue Trader miniatures. Flat red seems the go, and Berserkers wouldn't run around with a boltgun (well...they would but...). Red is light enough that you will still see some of that classic detail that makes it special.
