Hey, I don't know a lot about CD so I'll need some help. I'd like to build a Khorne based list, but it'll probably lack a sensible amount of shooting,

Here's what I have so far:

20 Bloodletters
3 Bloodcrushers
1 Herald of Khorne on a Juggernaut

I can proxy my Tyranids for everything else I need. For my HQ, I'm thinking about keep the Herald, as I can invest more in numbers which I believe is needed for a Khorne based army. I should say I'm playing against Necrons. So I need to get into CC asap. I plan on using cover a lot, and maybe having more Bloodcrushers with an Icon so my Bloodletters can DS in and not die too quickly. What else can I add? I'm thinking a unit of Pink Horrors for shooting, although it seems a little unreliable.

Bloodcrushers are unreliable now that they are T4, at 45 points a model going splish to a 15 point Missile launcher isn't my idea of fun.

They still have their place, but I would not build a list with them as the crux.

Personal favorite? Flesh Hounds, 16 points per model, 8 points per wound (realize that this is 1 point per wound cheaper than any of our troops and they're T4 instead of 3.). with WS5, S4(5 on the charge), they are a perfect place to use your jugger-herald. If you're running a smaller group of hounds, 10-15, run wrath for rage, if you run a full squad of 20, take wrath.

The best way in my opinion to bring in a bunch of letters, is to bring them in smaller squads and have all of them take icons. That way, you can drop your first in a safe position to scatter, then use the banner to DS in the other squads in a more aggressive spot. since you're able to place the banner model anywhere you want when you DS in, you can line him up so the next one can be a good distance away.

I think I will take Flesh Hounds instead of the Bloodcrushers. What do you suggest about shooting and Heavy Support units?

All Khorne has little to no shooting, that's kind of khorne's thing

I would add another 20 bloodletters, a bloodthirster, a skull cannon, and a second rage herald. Then I would remove the crushers.

Bloodthirsters, or greater daemons as a whole, are just too good not to take at any point level imo. They wrote the codex so that ideally you can only ever take 1, but then they made them so powerfull that you would wish you could take more than one, giving you a hard decision if to drop heralds for a second one. Unfortunately though, khorne rely's on it's herald's more than any other god, so i'd say you need basic heralds, with the rage loci
To go from 1000 to 1500, I would add in fleshhounds.

crushers can't be that bad, but you will probably want more bodies and the grimnoire of names for them. They are fast and should be in combat turn 2.

Thinking about it now, since I want to DS the Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers seem a more suitable choice. Although I can have a squad of Flesh Hounds to act as their cover. I'll type up my list soon, just got a bit of revising to do.

I don't know how many points your at(probably close to 1k) but a skull chariot or BL pod throne might actually be useful as well as the grimoire to try and keep your unit alive long enough to deep strike your BL.

Personally @ 1k I would run skulltaker on a Juggernaut attached to the 15 hounds with 3x10 man squads of letters (Icon, instrument,blood reaper w/LR) add Soul Grinder w/Mon, Phlegm Bombardment. Total pts 970
