10-11 draw

game two

Marines

His army: 4 five man las/plas, 2 five man missle/plas, 6 devestators 4 missles, dread, 8 terminators, 2 speeders, libby command squad( not terms), whirl wind

High lights

All his armor died on turn one, speeder explodes to kill 3 marines in another squad, weaponless devil fish tank shocks a squad off the table (the same fish), double fish of fury and 2 shas'o kill termies when they landed, he killed 2 hammer heads, 2 fish, and my piranha

18-3 massacre-Tau victory

game three

DROP PODS

his army

Libby term squad( fear, fury, 2 asscannons), term squad(2 asscannons), 2 8 man squads with fister and 2 meltas each(in pods), 1 lascannon, missile launcher ven dread in pod, 3! ven dreads in pods (judge ruled it legal)

This game deserves a full report so I will write a more detailed game report

Mission is victory points with sustained attack

I win roll and he goes first

A large forest spilt my deployment zone in two

The drop: EVERYTHING but the non-libby termes comes in

Hammerhead dies, devil fish and half it's squad, shas'o feared off,  both shas'ui crisis die.

My turn

One asscannon dread dies, 5 tactical marines die from one squad, 7 from the other

His turn 3

other terminators come in, the damaged fire warriors die, 5 stealths die, one hammerhead stunned

My turn 3

sustained attack fire warriors rapid fire a dreads back to death, tactical squads finished off

his turn 4

Terms move forward and kill 4 fire warriors in a trench, hammer head loses rail gun

My turn 4

Rapid fire kills 4 non-libby squad terms ( both asscannoners killed by torrent of fire from the two fire warrior squads), lone gun drone gets a penetrating hit on the lascannon dread and kills it, the same drone then assault moves withing 6 of fleeing term

Last turn due to time was his turn 5

Fleeing term goes off table, hammerhead stunned

16-6 victory-tau victory

I win best overall with 80 total points, 2nd place had 72 so I had a pretty solid win. My painting score was the second best and I got full comp and sportsman ship scores.

Nice report. Im especially interested in the Drop Pod army, that sounds a bit like the ones discussed on these boards. Did he have Tank Hunters on his terminators?

Yes he did. The drop pod army massacred a dark eldar army first round and was massacred by the chaos army I played first round during the droppers second round. A friend of mine went undefeated in the tourny but also got the worst painting score possilbe for an army that was painted, thus giving him second place (he was also dinged on comp from all three oponents for his army as well as sportmanship by one guy because of how badly his army was painted). Oh yea, and all the dreads had tank hunters as well.

PS. that heroic drone now has a few golden details were he used to have silver.( just a few tiny touches)
And the devil fish has two white lines painted like a casualty count on its side. When people ask, I can tell them that it is the number of squads it has tank shocked off the board edge.

How well did the Piranha do for you? It's a pet project of mine to find a use for it and justification to take it.

Well none of my oponents had anything that the piranha was useful against, so not to well. The second guy deployed his whirly out in the open because he though i would be more concerned with his devestators or lascannons. Most armies it would help though...

Nice report. Too bad I wasn't there to give the beatings where deserved...hehe. I think that even though your friend won 2nd place, I think it is a travesty that armies weren't awarded for painting. I think I know who won second, and if my guess is right, having a unpainted army taking a top award does the hobby a disservice. Good Job man! Capt K

Thanks. Yea, he is the one who came in second. His painting score was a one out of eight but his prince did actually come out some what decent ( he finished painting the army 30 min. before it was suposed to start). Other wise though, his army did look terrible, demonettes that were primed white then given black claws, then some parts of them were purple. The guy with the raptor list got all eight points and came in third overall. The raptor guy has a prince now that is the same as my old prince, so that gave me trouble.

My painting score was a 6 out of 8. I lost the point for top army and the extreme detail one.

drop pods are rough... that was one of my last turn luck games. I mean, one drone killed a dreadnought and caused me to get full points for a terminators, the drone also passed 2 or 3 all on your own tests.

Nice. So Gareth is fielding a glaive prince then? I can't wait until I get my slaneesh up to 1850pts. so I can shread all those raptors. As for your last round luck....typical! hehehe. Capt K

Hey Celty, you play at Sci-Fi also? What army do you play? Capt K

He also is only fielding one raptor unit. I just want to see him actually make a glaive prince, rather than just use the same guy for every thing. Contrary to the norm, luck was not on my side all day. Gareth glancing 6'ed two of my hammerheads in one turn, and Scott got a 7 out of 8 squad drop on turn two. But then again, my shas'o did beat a bloodthirster in a round of close combat (I made 3 invulnerable saves) , the thirster almost failed the instablility that would have killed him.

So is Gareth even playing as night lords anymore? I thought that you can only get a glaive if you have the mark of Khorne? He's still using the same fig to represent that? WTF? I would have said something about that. Not very WYSIWYG to me. How did he justify the glaive? So Scout took his DP army then? Was he playing them as Templars or marines with traits? Capt K

Nope. no nightlords. That way he could have a bloodthirster. I didn't say anything because we had a low turn out and needed every one we could get. There was no form of a glaive, much less any pole based weapon, on the model. He said he had won a best overall at another tournament using the same stuff, so I guess no one else has said any thing either.

No templars. Just black marines with white pads and templar marks. So he could take 4 dreads and a librarian.

Meh. You know what man, I would have said something. If wysiwyg isn't going to be enforced then what is the point of having rules? So what if he won another RTT somewhere else. Those rules are in place so there is no "gotcha!" effect and surprises. So basically he had a infiltrating army with a bezerker glaive prince AND a bloodthirster? Did he at least follow the rules about not taking Speed or Flight with the glaive? Capt K

I have played a couple times at Sci-Fi but work often keeps me out late or working so I miss the 1 o'clock start on Saturdays a lot of the time. I play Eldar, but I am still trying to figure out a good force as I am switching from 2nd ED rules to 4th.  When you were playing I was watching James play the drop pod SMurfs fighting the Dark Eldar.

My roomie, who is just starting to play the game  (he picked Tau) was watching you play.  The only reason I thought this report was from you was he was suprised you had switched to Tau.

Hey Celty, I play Ultramarines, SOB, Emperor's Children, and IG. I don't play Tau. Or were you directing your response to Me_Person? Capt K

Capt K. Yea he followed the no flight or speed. Honestly i thought he was over demon gifts limit but Mark said it was not, I guess he did not have some of the stuff my guy had but his guy did have demon armor.
Based on what I gathered from the battle he had armor, glaive, stature, essence. Which is 90 points, he also had feel no pain (cant remember if it does count as a gift, but it is from khrone book), I also Thought he had strength and resilience, but he must not have had either of them. He must have had furious charge to get the S6 but I was certain I was rolling against T6 but I must not have been.

Only 8 people showed... at least every one had competitive to very competitive armies, or I would not have cared if I won or not. Like 14-16 had said they were coming and around 5 lists were turned in ahead of time by people who never showed up. GW failed to put the RTT on their website

it was
Me, Ben, Gareth, Ernie, Hector, Gareth's friend, Dark Eldar (a good list), Scott (james used his army first round because scott thought he had to leave).

Now I have to wait till the end of May to dish it out in a good sized tournament.

Mark said he wants to do one every month, alternating between 40k and fantasy. So 40k in march, fantasy in april, 40k in may, ect...

May 26th to be exact (I think), so not exactly exact.
